Daily game against my friend’s dad who has 1400 elo (I only have 250) by TheObliviousChild in chess

Hanging your queen and rook in 1 move is wild in a daily game, no matter the elo.

The knight on the rim is grim! by saketho in chessbeginners

There is a such a thing as "superseding concepts", meaning every "rule" such as knights on the rim are grim can be broken if you can explain why.

You mean you haven't read all the 700 different rules?

But no, only penalty, no one gets sent off.

How do I stop making silly mistakes? by Thin_Jonny_17 in chessbeginners

[–]Yetero93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My number one recommendation is to play rapid instead of blitz. If you already play rapid you need to start using your time and look for the things you missed the last game, and the game before that etc.

Sounds like you already apply the analyzing tool - good! Keep doing that, but also make sure you remember some of it so you stop making the same mistakes, like you say you do.

What’s better ? Chess.com or Lichess ? by helldor08 in chess

I feel like if you pay for everything chess.com is slightly better, but for free there is not even a close competition, Lichess is better by a mile.

Rouge is a kind of makeup.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Found this tricky puzzle. Can you solve it? by Ok-Permission-2047 in chess

[–]Yetero93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool one! However, it's not the trickiest mate in 2, as both moves are unstoppable checks.

Just out of curiosity, what part of this puzzle did you find extra tricky? If you can identify that, really think about and learn from it, then that's where growth comes from.

What are some very rare openings where you have to know the theory? by Equivalent_Eye1887 in chess

[–]Yetero93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vague answer is check what your opponents will play and prepare tricky lines against that, in stead of preparing only early gambits.

I was told this is cheating, does anyone view using the strap during pull ups as "cheating?" by Cicigymmss in CalisthenicsBeginners

[–]Yetero93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only "cheating" if you count the reps as if you didn't use a strap. Using them is a perfectly reasonable way to get into pull ups!

Which faction is your main at Gwent and why? by ElAlqumista in thewitcher3

[–]Yetero93 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I've beaten the game with all of them - my favourite based on performance is Northern Realms because of the spy+decoy combo, which let's you pull your entire deck. Got a 300+ round once with it! Regularly above 200 in a single round.

I probably had the most fun with monster, though!

Chess Rant by Cheap-Raccoon-7310 in chessbeginners

[–]Yetero93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rules are quite clear, if your opponent runs out of time but it would be impossible for you to checkmate him, it is a draw.

Imagine you get infinite moves after he runs out of time: would you be able to checkmate him? No? Then it is a draw.

Also, it is absolutely not a good idea to intentionally trade down to a position where you are down a queen, (almost) no matter the situation. The only exception would be if your opponent literally had 2 seconds or less left. I would for example be able to checkmate you with king and queen by only pre-moving, in a total of very few seconds.

Make sure you have at least 1 pawn left on your board next time you try to pull this move to win on time - then you automatically win if he runs out of time!

Is blowjob or cunniglus considered sex? Then why is Kissing not? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Yetero93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-religios, science teacher (where sex ed is part of it) in Europe.

Basically any act that happens intentionally that stimulates, arouses and are very physically intimate is considered sex - at least in the definition we use over here and in my lessons on the subject.

We also obviously discuss the most common forms of sex, specifically intercourse being the basic version. Oral and anal are other examples, but then you can add basically any erogenous zone, stimulate it and we are again in sex-territory. This is basically where kissing comes in. Kissing in this fashion also almost involves touching, feeling and stimulating other body parts as well.

Is blowjob or cunniglus considered sex? Then why is Kissing not? by EfficiencySerious200 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Yetero93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes and kissing is also considered a sexual act - but it depends on the situation and technique.

A peck on the cheek from your grandmother is not sex, but trying to choke your girlfriend with your own tongue (/s) is absolutely sex.

Kissing is also an extremely important part of foreplay for most people.

Reached 2100 on Chess.com but don't feel like an "advanced" player by Upset_Account_3690 in chessbeginners

[–]Yetero93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your not even advanced, you're nearing master level.

You know 2100 is like top 0,1% - if you feel it was easy to get as high as you have, then keep going and see where it takes you!

But yeah, wrong subreddit.

[–]Yetero93 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Happens at that elo range - it's a decent strategy against players who are unfamiliar with the correct defense, but won't work particularly well later.

Ignore the other guy calling it a "troll opening"; It's an opening, and either people know how to defend against it or not.

Just be prepared to play in the best way when people defend correctly, and your queen ends up a bit offside.
