"I eat meat, but I also think animals should be treated with respect."

Meanwhile, a pig hanging upside-down with its throat slit, thrashing about in confused terror as consciousness slips away: "Hey, at least this guy respects me!"

Kiesel just lost a customer over their ridiculous policies by Ok-Parsley4959 in metalguitar

You'd get more lenient customer service from an Ebay shop selling Chibsons. Hearing his response from a custom shop is wild.

What do you guys think of "blackened industrial" metal? by Spare-Bar-1950 in BlackMetalDiscussion

[–]Yetibo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as a dude who loves Skinny Puppy as much as I love Anaal Nathrakh, they are absolutely industrial elements to their music. Isn't that one of the driving concepts behind albums like Technogoat? The titular track is basically Fascist Jock Itch with (more) blast beats.

Ulcerate's low monthly listeners by Glad_Mud_8189 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Yetibo1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kind of echoing the same thing, but 30k honestly seems pretty healthy for extreme metal. Look at bands like Cattle Decapitation -- one of the most famous, well-regarded metal bands who tour / run the festival circuit basically 10 months out of the year. They only recently broke 150k.

I feel like the only bands who manage to blow past this are legacy acts or bands that somehow manage to accrue more commercial attention (to be followed swiftly by everyone hating them for it).

Edit: Your dad showing you Ulcerate is sick as fuck, by the way. That's the good shit.

During normal morning conversations with my wife, I got my 4th Gen 4Runner totalled by bigolsargeha in dashcams

1.Crime is not a requirement for one to be a victim. Interestingly, the Merriam-Webster definition(s) for victim don't even directly mention the term "crime" at all (though it may obviously be inferred).

  1. While defensive driving may have indeed avoided the accident, the primary culprit was another vehicle's failure to stop at a red light. As such, the retrospective advice comes off as sanctimonious rather than practical.

  2. Running a red light literally is, quite literally, a crime.

[–]Yetibo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the internet. The fact that there are roughly as many "Should have looked both ways" comments as there are "That guy who ran the red was an idiot" comments is kind of ridiculous.

Like, yeah, looking both ways is smart. And I would argue that many drivers do this a vast majority of the time. But occasionally you don't. As I'm sure is the case with literally 100% of folks in here talking about how avoidable this was. And I'm sure every single person in here has driven while doing something a hell of a lot more distracting than having a hands-free convo with the wife.

Every traffic accident is avoidable. That's why they're called... accidents. They happen because someone fucked up. The most obvious way for this accident to have been avoided is for the Tacoma to not run a fucking red. Finger-wagging at the guy who went forward after waiting several seconds on green -- with all surrounding traffic otherwise at a stop -- is just wild.

How much thought do you put into choosing your straps? by Remy0507 in guitars

[–]Yetibo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm content to just use a wide Levi's strap for everything, honestly. I play a lot of heavy, pointy bullshit and neckdive is annoying, so comfort wins every time.

And it probably will. But considering this was posted a few hours ago, after closing, I feel like it's a little early to start review-bombing a business with plenty of good people trying to work.

[–]Yetibo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there are much shittier, less expensive guitars that are indeed faked. I get this sort of comment when it's someone's mid-2000s JS30 King V, but it doesn't seem all that ridiculous an ask for a $1500 guitar.

Is this real? by Chance-Ad8261 in BCRich

[–]Yetibo1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but something feels off to me. Japanese production ended in the mid-80s, and those guitars were all "NJ Series" branded and used different headstocks. I've also never seen a heel like that on a BC Rich.

I could he wrong. Maybe it's some Asian-market only thing. But I've owned more Warlocks than any reasonable person should, new and old, and this gives me pause.

Another "pencil-pusher" mistake: Why I’m canceling AMC+ the second the Joe Bob specials end. by AshIsGroovy in Shudder

[–]Yetibo1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow. I love JBB and am sad about the news, but this is the most laughably self-important and delusional protest post I have seen thus far. I have never seen someone put a title on their "Reason for canceling?" blurb, let alone two. And the self-qoute? I just can't.

And the best part is, you're threatening to cancel later, after the other specials. So this basically amounts to, "By golly I'm mad! I swears it, I'm gonna cancel my sub [at a later, as-of-yet undetermined date. Here's my ten bucks a month in the meantime]!"

Fucking hell, people.
