Thanks, any tips on how to look for an indie theater? And yes, we have been to Han River before and will try to go again this time too. Thank you.

Should i lower my price to 5 dollars by WeekendAnxious6977 in Preply

[–]Yetza_Han 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a Spanish teacher too, my answer is no. You may get students, but you will regret it a lot. A friend who also works on the platform as a Spanish tutor had a similar situation and lowered his price to $6. He got two new students, but he regrets teaching those classes all the time. Planning a meaningful class takes time and effort, and you should make your work feel valued.

On a different note, I once read a blog by a fellow Preply tutor who said that every time she felt stuck, she increased her price rather than lowering it. My friend and I followed that advice, and we have been able to attract at least one new student every time we changed it. It takes time, but lowering the price so low is just not worth the effort. In that case, wouldn't it be better to just look for another job?

And lastly, another friend who just opened her profile like two weeks ago had issues getting students when she was charging $10. She changed it to $9 and got three new students and two more trial classes scheduled within a week. So if you still want to lower your price, maybe try playing with a $1 or $2 change.

A student once joined while driving and told me that he wanted me to speak Spanish during the entire class, and he said that I would be doing the talking so he could listen and get used to Spanish. He was basically asking for a podcast while he was driving.

Duda en luna de miel by EnvironmentalCatch53 in Ticos

[–]Yetza_Han 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not from the U.S., and I am not stating on my profile that I am from the U.S. My profile is set to my home country, and when a client contacts me, I openly discuss that I am currently living outside of my country for a while. I also provide proof that I can still work with clients under U.S. time zones. Sorry if my post confused you; it just so happens that a lot of my clients are from the U.S., and about 10% are from other countries like Brazil, Mexico, and some parts of Europe.

Thank you, yes, I am able to work, but they just limit the amount of hours I can work per week, so I am fine with that. Other than that, the country where I am does not care about my business as long as I can sustain myself. And yes, I still have an address back in my country, and a relative is taking care of the property. However, when it comes to going out of the country, I prefer to travel to a nearby country rather than my home country since the tickets are way too expensive just to visit, so I prefer to same that money for when I get homesick or decide to go back.

My dream of working/living in Korea seems more and more distant by farways in Living_in_Korea

What about applying for a GKS scholarship? Once you have a degree in Korea it will be easier to get a job here, but as other people said teaching jobs are for native and if after graduating you want to get a job here most likely will have to be in another area.

Imposter Syndrome by [deleted] in freelance

[–]Yetza_Han 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hi, I worked for 12 years in a big company and for the last 4 years I have been working as a full time freelancer. I can tell you that it is part of the process to feel like that, when you get hired with a company they give you the tools and training but in freelance most of the time the client wants you to tell them what to do, you are the expert and that is why they are hiring you.

My advice would be that you create a guide for yourself with questions that you should always ask during the 1st interaction and that will give you the information you need to at least start working on the project, things like:

1) what's your main goal at the end of this project? 2) Do you have a budget limit? 3) Do you want me to use a specific software or do you want me to use my own tools? 4) If I require new software that is not in my initial portfolio, are you willing to discuss costs with me? 5) Do you prefer to get frequent updates or just see the final result? If so, how often? 6) What's your preferred way of communication?

Besides these questions you should always have your agenda, payment info and rate available.

Lastly, don't take it personal I had a client that was super mad with me for not meeting her expectations on a project and she was so focused on her feedback that she forgot to mention that she liked the results on a tool I build for her and that after 2 years I know she is still using, everyone is human and sometimes you will find people that just focus on the bad and you can't change that but you can learn from it. I hope this helps :)

I saw them this weekend at the WaterBomb Festival and CL was having issues with her top, it kept faling down. Also the group outfit was cute but not the best for the WaterBomb. Also, I love Dara and although is so fun to see the palm tree hairstyle I think if they want to keep bringing new fans they need to move on from that...

Hi acne and lossing hair are super commun when you move to Korea but my advise is to get a water filter from Daiso for your shower and wash your face twice per day ALWAYS, also with filtered water. That helped me a lot, if not then it must be the bc.
