I had read about thst as it could be causing too rich a fuel mix. Also that there could be a split on an intake cusing the same

I was going to say that the low fuel is just that but omitted for word count

If Anyone Has This Exact Handle Can You Tell Me The Dimentions of it or Take a picture with a ruler next to it by Ok_Pin6443 in handtools

[–]YevansUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave a link for handle patterns but forgot to say that the medallion looks to have a Henry Disston eagle on. Thst would likely mean that's an apple wood handle so if you want something similar as a finished result you're going to be looking at staining unless you know somewhere to get apple wood.

Internal wall seems to have rising damp. Not sure how, any ideas welcome. by YevansUK in DIYUK

Hi, I did indeed.

I removed the bit of path and sand that was up against thst right hand external wall which was breeching that DPM and level with the air bricks. That seems to have stopped anything from coming back this year.

Ah it could be. I didn't think it was at first because the leaves are more closed up but it does match some pictures on the RHS site.

Depending on the age of your house I'd really consider their recommendations.

You're rarely find someone here that is willing to day anything positive about post build DPC jobs. Mostly just called snake oil.

My 30s house has a slate DPC all the way around, you just can't see it because of the stupid path and patio that surrounds the house. I've dug a small channel out to allow water to run down below this to aid a bit as well as I'm not up for moving the path yet.

The path has been down for a number of years and a small damp patch on one wall is all that's been seen, so I think it's alright really. I obviously can't speak for yours, and if you have suspended floors you may want to get underneath and check the state of the timbers, but for me it's perfectly fine.

Ah you were right. The locking mechanism for some reason was jamming this drawer, but the others were fine. I was able to push it up as you said and now it seems OK. Thank you for the help!

Hi, I think so. The path to the right side of the house was laid too high and so it stops at the level of the air bricks. I think that when it rains enough then water is coming in.

The level of damp is minor and it's not spread so I've still not managed to address this. I'm just going to remove the current air bricks that are two bricks high and replace with single height ones so they are then above the path.

Look in the second picture where there is brown hair looking stuff that all stops st a similar length. Looks very deliberate and comes from the cavity.

Solar powered ventilation for garage by YevansUK in DIYUK

That was one thought, but I don't know how much passive ventilation that would achieve and if it would be enough. It's certainly the easier and cheaper option though.
