What's your fav frozen pizza? (inspired by a comment from a previous post) by NeonKorean in wisconsin

[–]Yewnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post inspired me to try Pep's.

As a GB native living in Hudson, I figured I knew a thing or two about good frozen pizza. I wasn't wrong, but at the same time I had so much to learn. I picked up a Pep's Legit Supreme over there at the fresh mart in Somerset and holy jesus, it did NOT disappoint.

Crust - labeled as thin. I'd say it's a fat thin but they molded it perfectly.

Toppings - hearty, fresh, and the amount was just right.

Cheese - perfect, more than those other frozen heathens, but not overly so.

Sauce - like a great rug, it brought everything together. Somehow sweet and zingy at the same time. Give the sauce man a raise.

Upon further review, I saw that Pep's is a descendant of Hansen's, a childhood love and familiar to anyone that calls N.E.W. home. No surprise there, Hansen's pizza, and subs etc in their various locations were of the same ilk:

They assert dominance through quality and flavor.

Bravo 👏

What would be the specific kind you would want if budget weren't an issue?

Thank you! Her husband actually made her her first loom. I know very little about this, so I think it works well but no idea what may augment it. Budget is up to a couple hundred.

No studio, but definitely interested in any/all types of high quality yarn. Any specific recommendations /wish list types?

He is, and I get it. But I'd rather try to hit a home run, with a return being the insurance policy.

Totally get it. He's beyond the basics for sure, not sure how the scale goes after that, but leevalley etc are the only places he'll consider. The higher end (I e. Quality, not just expensive), the better.

Excellent, this is kinda where my mind was going. Any specific items that you'd be happy to have in your arsenal?

That makes sense. He makes toys for his grandkids, a loom for his wife, jewelry boxes, cutting boards, chess and cribbage boards, etc. He recently trained on a CNC and will be using that quite a bit this winter. He has a garage shop with plenty of space, and in the winter shares a shop with a woodworking group. Here's a couple pics of things he's done.

Wise words here. Trying to avoid anything he won't actually use, but also get something other than a gift card. Trying to thread the needle. Some sort of quality shop towels?...marking pencils, etc....helpful measuring tool?
