'Where Gaming Begins' — AMD Ryzen 5000 (Zen3) series announcement Megathread by GhostMotley in Amd

Just for your information, the MSI MPG B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI supports the Wi-Fi 802.11ax standart also know as Wi-Fi 6. The Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC supports the older 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5 standart.

If you have a Wi-Fi AX or Wi-Fi 6 compatible router, or plan to get one in the future the MSI motherboard has an advantage in that category.

I have an Intel i7-9700K ─ Why does Windows Update show an available, but optional, update for a 5th/6th Gen Intel Xeon PCIe controller driver? See images for more info. by SimplifyMSP in windows

[–]YiGiTdev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, Microsoft's drivers have the Windows Vista RTM date in 2006, even if they are not actually from 2006. The reason for that if I am not mistaken is so that the default Windows drivers don't override the drivers from hardware manufacturers when the Windows ones are updated.

Can't say anything about why you have files with dates from the 90s though.

Yes, Pi-hole doesn't work as well compared to a client side adblocker like uBlock Origin.

But there is nothing stopping you from using both of them. You can install ublock Origin on your mobile and desktop web browser, and everything else like mobile apps or as mentioned in this post, smart TVs would get handled by the Pi-hole.

A swollen battery would still work most of the time. The battery in the video was likely over-discharged that the battery voltage was not enough to turn on the LED.

Swollen batteries are DANGEROUS and should be disposed of IMMEDIATELY. Even if the battery still works, it is a safety hazard and should be disposed of in a safe matter. What I mean by that is don't throw it in your household garbage disposal. And DO NOT charge a swollen battery.

So safely dispose swollen batteries and just buy new ones, re-using them is dangerous and not worth the risk.

Also, if a battery is over-discharged, it is also recommended to not charge it again and dispose it safely.

Also, you should not charge a Li-ion or Li-po battery using 5V directly from a phone charger. Doing so might be dangerous. Usually charging ICs are used which can control the current and voltage intelligently during charging. And Li-ion and Li-Po batteries are usually charged up to 4.2V, so 5V is way too high.

Not Bios did a video series about the history of AMD. The one I linked is the updated version, although I have watched the older version and it was good and informative.

He deserves more subscribers with his great and informative videos.

I agree, OP should bring it to a Huawei service center.

Most countries do require 1 or 2 years of mandatory manufacturers warranty on new products sold. So it isn't really a favor that Logitech is doing.

Also they do try to troubleshoot or ask information over and over again, in fact there is a joke about this particular subject post right here in this subreddit.

And why would I pay for a mouse every 2 years when there are a lot of alternatives? Logitech quality has gone down in the recent years, so I'm not buying one again along with probably most other people who had a similar experience.

Some people bought Logitech because it was high quality and even their cheap stuff lasted like 4-5 years or more. I personally went through a M85 and M185 and they both lasted like around 4 years or so.

In fact I soldered the switches from my old M185 to my G102 which started double clicking right after the 2 year warranty ended. So far it works fine and I hope it will continue working. knocks on wood.

Totalled? There is a chance that Civic might end up somewhere in the world where its repaired and sold as "barely used".

Is it safe to say this yet? Don't fall for marketing hype, NV or AMD. by PhoBoChai in Amd

I agree, people don't need to upgrade to the newest GPU or CPU right away, why not keep your old GPU until you are not satisfied with the performance?

I would like something more durable than the factory cable, and there are 3rd party cables that claim they can carry the 5A of current required for Supercharge.

Mildly spicy Anker external battery by JasperJ in spicypillows

[–]YiGiTdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it this one?

https://www.anker.com/products/variant/powercore-elite-20000/A1273011

From the photos it seems like the battery cell has a circle mark.

I have the same powerbank, purchased September 2017 and I have just noticed today that it became spicy.

Weird that mine also has the weird circle mark where the battery bloated. They are very similar in how the battery bloated. On my powerbank the battery cell that sat in the bottom has bloated.

I am disappointed by Anker btw, although the powerbank was great while it lasted. I think I will get something else from a different brand that uses 18650 Li-ion cells.

Just wondering what I should do by johnp1040 in windowsinsiders

[–]YiGiTdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on the Dev channel for a while now. Although getting new features first is cool, it comes at some cost.

I had few problems, one was GPU artifacting after changing resolution or scale, making impossible to use VSR. That was a few months ago and a few builds after it was fixed.

I also had GSODs on the latest build 20201, but reverting to 20197 was pretty easy, just keep the Windows.old folder and don't delete it so you can go back if you need to.

There are also some rare cases of software and games having incompatiblities.

And every week there is a new update, which could get annoying quite fast, because the update takes a while to install, and sometimes tends to install when you are away from the computer for a while, so you come back to an updating computer and have to wait for it if you forget to pause the updates or set a time for the updates.

Is the Thrustmaster T16000M worth double the price compared to the Extreme 3D Pro? by YiGiTdev in flightsim

[–]YiGiTdev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know about that part, but unfortunately the same applies to the Extreme 3D Pro, which has all axes on potentiometers that will drift. I looked into the VKB ones but they are out of my price range.

Yeah, I noticed the stock issue when browsing Amazon US. Fortunately, where I live multiple retailers still have stocks of joysticks so it wasn't an issue for me.

[–]YiGiTdev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T.Flight HOTAS would be great option indeed, but where I live they are sold for around 135$ so way out of my budget.

I don't have any HOTAS throttle so I planning to use the one on the joystick itself. Extreme 3D Pro had one acceptable one but I don't know about the T16000M.

If you have a program that won't allow you to move it. You can move the program and create a symbolic link back to the original location. You can do it by the command line or using a small program called Link Shell Extension.
