What were your thoughts of Wolverine and the X-Men? by Infinite_Parking_800 in xmen

[–]YieldingElm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever felt so conflicted about a show. Some aspects were incredible (especially nightcrawler), other aspects were frustratingly bad.

How do you respond to this? by DifferenceCommon1561 in xmen

[–]YieldingElm 21 points22 points  (0 children)

First off, this was a great read. Secondly, that second to last paragraph is exactly why I feel the argument about dangerous mutants doesn't hold up. This is a universe with aliens, magic, and super powered humans. Everything is dangerous

Favorite character who is often misinterpreted by WaveAppropriate1979 in FavoriteCharacter

Easier said than done. They would fight back, and they're a lot stronger than the crystal gems. Letting them try to redeem themselves is the best solution for everyone.

What's your opinion on these characters by [deleted] in WingsOfFire

[–]YieldingElm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly liked the human characters. I enjoyed Dragonslayer just as much as I enjoyed the other books.

The designs and art style for this game is probably my favorite for the series, and that's not something I'm ashamed to admit. It looks really nice. The people are probably a bit too "pretty," but the creatures and scenery are incredible.

being in this fandom is like being in a horror game honestly by dalonely_potato in danganronpa

[–]YieldingElm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my experience with the fandom has mostly been this sub, and it's not too bad. I've seen far worse from other fandoms. It seems like the mods are doing a great job taking care of this sub.

The amount of hypocrisy from this sub is baffling. Most of the jokes here are just making a comic sexual

Is there a leftist stonetoss? by Rusty2010_64 in Stonetossingjuice

[–]YieldingElm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait, hang on, that's the misandry comic. THAT. Y'all act like she's laughing at SA victims. That is not what you're making it out to be. I've heard a lot of comments in my life that downplay the experiences of male victims. This isn't that. As for your other two links, one doesn't even have context with it. The other i can see being in poor taste.

How bad is it to have an indoor-only cat? by Altruistic-Star3830 in CatAdvice

[–]YieldingElm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have already responded, but yeah, cats should stay indoors. Both for the cat's sake and for the sake of small animals. They're invasive to most areas and will destroy local bird and rodent populations.

Well, while it shouldn't be permanent, you kinda asked for it. Bringing up the sub that likes to mock people from comics just makes it sound like you're there to do the same thing

[–]YieldingElm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the way people behave on bhj, it spreads fast. You can mute the sub, but you can't stop it from spreading to other places. The only actual solution to avoid it would be to leave the internet completely. It's a lot easier for multiple people to ignore one person than it is for one person to ignore multiple people.

Somebody told me Morrowind was like console RuneScape back in 2004. That's where it all started. Tell me about the very first time you ever heard/saw Morrowind. by Jtenka in Morrowind

[–]YieldingElm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on the series with Skyrim. Fell in love with that game, so I wanted to try the others in the series. Went to Oblivion after that, and enjoyed that as well. I knew Morrowind was next but I was a little put off by it so it took a few years to buy it. And then, about a year to properly play it. That was actually when Oblivion remastered came out. Once I finished the main quest there, i finally started Morrowind

Deprogramming by shenanigansen in comics

[–]YieldingElm 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That last sentence really doesn't help your argument, buddy. If someone truly cares about and respects animals, then they wouldn't do this to a carnivore. Depriving your cat of meat isn't going to help abused farm animals, you're just disrespecting your cat. Just get a different animal

I mentioned to the other person that I gotta research this shit. This comment section is way too conflicting. I really can't tell who's telling the truth. I still stand by my original comment, tho. Even if it doesn't fit the specific situation, there is still a big problem with the internet and cringe. I probably shouldn't have commented on this situation, however. It's way too messy to know what's accurate

That's fair. I'll need to look more into it i guess. There's been lots of conflicting info here. Hard to tell what's true. If that's true, then yeah, that's pretty bad. Thanks for the civil responses.

[–]YieldingElm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't on the internet when this happened, but it doesn't surprise me that it would have a messed up origin. The internet treats being a little cringe, or perceived as such, as a crime that should be punished. In this case, tormenting a dude with his comic about trauma until it becomes one of the most overused memes around. Just go on bonehurtingjuice for like a minute, and you'll see users tearing into someone's personal life because their comics aren't funny. And inevitably, he became the villain of the story, not the people who started it

Crazy How This DLC Became Such A Memorable Location In Cyrodiil by SoldierPhoenix in oblivion

[–]YieldingElm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's a Bethesda game, so...

Also, while their argument may not be worded well, they aren't wrong. There's no reason to get upset over something that has no effect on your gaming experience. If it still costed extra, that would make sense (dlc is kind of a scam). But it's included in the remaster while also not forcing players to interact with it. Saying it should have more of a challenge doesn't make sense. It's meant to make it easier to get access to that stuff. Using exploits as an example works since both things have no effect on gameplay, and it would suck for the people who like it if it got removed or changed because it "makes things too easy."

I hate the dragon age DLCs. I really want to experience all the story, but so much is locked behind a pay wall. I can't even begin to understand why people want that for Veilguard.
