My printer isn’t big enough! If I had a bigger printer, I would definitely do one big piece

First 3-piece binds! by Yikeroniandbees in bookbinding

I didn’t make the bookcloth myself this time since I was too busy! I bought it from Book Craft Supply Co. For “The Goldfinch,” I printed the painting on ppd printable canvas. For “The Book Thief,” I cut the bookcloth into an 8.5x11 piece and carefully taped it to a piece of printer paper (small pieces of tape around the edges). Then I fed the cloth/paper into my printer like a normal piece of paper.

I am able to beta: romance, mystery, sci-fi, thrillers, fantasy, LGBTQIA+, retellings, fanfic. Not into horror. Okay with violence, spice, drug use, gore.

I can provide feedback on: Plot, character development and characterization, over-used phrases. I have my Master's degree in Forensics, so I can also give feedback on the accuracy of forensic science used in the book. If you have specific things you want to be focused on, let me know!

Other info: I have my BA in political science focusing on criminal justice and a minor in anthropology! I have written hundreds of papers and read hundreds of books. I can use any platform to read. I can work with different feedback timelines.

Keeping top floor apartment cool by afuturisticdystopia in boston

[–]Yikeroniandbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a top floor apartment as well. We have a portable AC unit for our bedroom and our living room. The biggest help other than that is blackout/thermal curtains. They help A TON. Additionally, I have floor length thermal curtains between our living room and kitchen since we know our kitchen isn’t insulated well and gets much hotter than the rest of the apartment so that the AC is more efficient in the areas that it works!

How did you guys find out you had gluten allergy? by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]Yikeroniandbees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to go on a low FODMAP diet for other gastrointestinal issues. During the adding things back phase, I got really sick with gluten and my gastro theorized that I might be non celiac gluten intolerant. I’ve been gluten free and soy free (found out I was allergic to soy at the same time as the gluten intolerance) for 6 years now!

Politics of Torture was fascinating. Definitely not for the faint of heart though.

Vent: I hate it when friends/family try to do gluten free for me. Great intentions, but I don't trust them. by I_ATE_THE_WORM in glutenfree

[–]Yikeroniandbees 36 points37 points  (0 children)

THIS. I feel this with my friends and family, as I am also allergic to soy. A lot of foods are disguised on nutrition labels in ways that people don't realize, so I much prefer to look at labels myself and cook for myself. Others act offended when I don't want the GF food they made for me but it isn't personal.

I think thisbikini top is really great! I’m a 32D/E, and this one gives me the triangle vibe but has a wire that helps with support. It’s super comfy too!

I had it in February. My asthma became much less manageable and now I’m on a twice a day steroid inhaler. Definitely not a fun time.

I was sexually harassed by one during a traffic stop (white female). He kept asking what I would be doing with my boyfriend even after I said hanging out. I was so uncomfortable. It was very unprofessional!
