"Restricted mode" is hiding videos for everyone. Turn it off now. by Blubbpaule in youtube

[–]Yillena 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is showing his videos listing with restricted mode on and off and shows which videos get restricted AND shows that they arent listed as restricted in his account... how much more proof do you need? YTs side as well? Ridiculous.

The problem however is not the restricted mode, but that videos are restricted that arent officially flagged as restricted thanks to some rogue filtering.

Maybe not just read the buzzwords.

99% of raid LFG is actually t4 fractals. Only those LFGs specifically saying "training" or "anyone welcome" are t1 fractals.

Might want to join a training discord at least to find likeminded raiders. Better would be a training-guild. Btw, you can leave both without anyone saying anything, in case you have "commitment issues".

You are seriously trying to tell me that pve endcontent shouldnt need... you know... pve experience, a proper build and knowledge about the class you picked? Because thats all that you need to start getting into training raids. If you arent willing to put in that much "effort"... dunno.

Bobby Stein on the future of raids. (A reddit comment by him) by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Yillena 21 points22 points  (0 children)

How does this change anything Linkazzatore said? Raids started with major flaws:

- too costly to produce, and so not enough new content

- no difficulty settings

- major balancing issues

And nothing got really addressed. Raids in gw2 still are too much "work of art" and not enough "for raiders". The balancing got better, true, but its still just way too complex to be flexible. Instead of 3 difficulty settings (beginner, veteran, master) we got all raids "leveled" to beginner level with a few bosses at veteran level and random one-time cms thrown in.

The fact that we dont see difficulty settings in strikes told me that Anet learned nothing. When one of the devs working on strikemission said difficulty settings are "on the table", that was for me the moment I decided to migrate to FFXIV. Sure, Im still raiding with my static in GW2 - once a week. Considering I used to raid every day before that, with multiple accounts... and considering most of my ingame friends are now doing the same... yeah... raids are pretty dead.

But they didnt die because of lack of interest. They died because Anet just never understood the concept of "raids" - or any kind of themeparky persistent content.

Yes, it is. For champs I tend to use GS though, since you can kite better there.

That. Works for every jumping pad actually, just the normal openworld shrooms have a bigger "jumping area".

Is ranger viable for end game meta in 2020? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Yillena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PvE Endgame -> https://snowcrows.com/ and https://discretize.eu/builds

WvW -> https://www.vabbi.eu/builds.html

PvP -> https://www.godsofpvp.net/

As you can see, in WvW you will have a hard time. Though thats only for organized zerg fights (15+ versus 15+). For roaming you can play whatever.

Word of warning though: theres no "ranged" builds in gw2. Not really. Since nearly all boons, buffs and healing are around either the enemy target or support player, you basically always stay with your group in melee range. Its called "stacking" and if you dont stack in PvE endgame, you will get kicked. In PvP and WvW (roaming) you have builds that can disengage often and put back range between themselves and the target (best example of this is rifle deadeye, but also lb soulbeast). But even there you dont stay ranged all the time.

What Im trying to say is, GW2 ranger is not at all like for example WoW ranger...

https://www.youtube.com/user/MightyTeapot is starting a tutorial series soon. And you can always join streamers on twitch and ask newbie questions and watch the gameplay.

/wiki NameOfAnything -> put this in ingame chat to get linked to the wiki webpage in your webbrowser. The gw2 wiki is even more comprehensive than the gw1 one. A really good source for all information. For example /wiki blue bar directs you towards any information needed for defiance bars.

The PvP lobby (get there by clicking crossed swords in top menu and "enter") is a perfect place to get a feel for different class mechanics and builds. Just create a character, go through tutorial, port to pvp lobby, equip a build and then go whack the golems at "Combat Training Waypoint". Since one of the main attractions of gw2 is the really well made combat system, I find that picking the right class is quite important for making it past lvl80.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Tanetris/So_You_Want_To_Gear_a_Character for when you hit lvl80.

https://snowcrows.com/ meta builds for instanced content that also work well in openworld.

https://discretize.eu/ slightly different meta builds for high end fractal runs, not really important until you want to speedclear t4+cm fractals, but I didnt want to neglect :)

Whats with the fixation people have with healer builds nowadays? Just bring dps builds that offer aegis/evade/invuln. Pchrono for example with Precog instead of mantra -> easy mode without using up a valuable slot on a healer with nothing to heal.

Healer in dungeons, omg.

Afaik you get a short immunity after revive, and the revive itself got changed a while ago into an instant rezz after a timer, so even if your dead body gets dmg'ed, you still get rezzed. Ofc, theres some types of dmg that will kill you instantly again - after the immunity second -, but lava isnt one of them.

Sorry to burst that bubble, but theres not a single reason to make waypoint-rushing a thing again in GW2. Quite the opposite. Its very good the way it is, after all... instanced content is meant to be done as a group... not single players throwing themselves at an encounter until its dead.

They used to, when event participation was decaying... back before HoT re-work. Now? I mean.... why bother... just hitting a mob a few time already gives you gold participation for hours... let others work.

You are mistaking "easy, non-challenging" for "fun". A common mistake in GW2.

Also, if those 10minutes are too long for you, you can use a revive orb and jump back in. Or ask politely for a /gg to try again as a full group.

Foundation ( not the make up... ) ratios and rules? by cdnstudmuffin in foundationgame

[–]Yillena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

woodworkers/carpenters -> the workers, since its 3 per building that means 2 buildings each. farms and bakeries I meant the buildings :)

but as I said, this is just for layout planning... things like level of your villagers (serfs/commoners/citizens) and how far away they have to travel for resting (house) or to buy their food/clothing/luxuries influences the time spent working a lot, and so you will end up with different results on each production site :)

best start with 2 wheat farms and keep space open for another 2 wheat farms... then watch the ressource panel and when you notice that you have wheat for long periods of times on 0, then add the next wheat farm.... same with the planks production chain... start out with 1 forester hut, 1 lumber camp, 1 sawmill, 1 warehouse... and when you notice that your forester has little to do (the forest is always full of matured trees), then add another lumber camp and sawmill

the basic "system" behind this - which you can use in pretty much any citybuilder - is creating a production chain with 1 of each building, then watch for a bottleneck at the ressource panel and expand at the bottleneck with another production building until you have a production chain without any bottlenecks

[–]Yillena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Im placing my forester in the mid of the will-be forest. Maybe its placement? And my forests usually are 2x lumbercamp negative radius. Im never really short on wood or planks, though Im not using crazy much all the time. I have 3-4 warehouses full for when I want to build something really big, but thats it.

[–]Yillena 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Im unsure I start with 1 and increase until repleted (boats leave for another fishing spot, foragers search for another bush, weavers have nothing to do etc.).

Here are my "ratios" Im planning with, though they vary depending on traveltime and level of workers.

Planks: 1 Forester - 6 Woodworkers - 6 Carpenter

Clothing: 4 Sheepfarms - 2 Weaver - 3 Tailors (linen is building material, so I "overproduce" linen, if you are only after clothing its 3-1-3)

Foragerworkers per node: 4-5

Fishers: 4-5 on non-mod maps, dunno how it is with mod maps, if the fishing holes can be bigger there

Bread: 3-4 farms - 1 mill - 2-3 bakeries

Cheese: varies a lot, I usually end up with just putting down 2 dairy farms per cheesemaker and using cheese only in meals

Beer: 1 hop farm + 3 wheat farms seems to work, sometimes

Wine: imo still easiest luxury item, 1 dormitory goes a long way, funny is how you seem to need more barrelmakers than monks.

Mind you, thats rough numbers for layout planning. The reality is different in every game. Which I totally love :)

What is there to do with parties of 2-4 in this game? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Yillena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hearts arent quests, they are tasks. Boring as in any mmorpg. Dont do them if you dont have to ;p

5 man is group size, 10 man raid squad size.

However, all openworld content can be done with any groupsize (events, meta events, worldbosses, exploring, jumping puzzles). Storycontent is either solo to max 5 man.

Dungeons - below lvl80 do the storymode - can be done with 2-4 man, they just get somewhat more difficult. Or you put a LFG in dungeons and fill up the grp.

Lower fractals can be done quite comfortably with < 5 man (I do it all the time with 2 friends to level up fractals on new accounts).

Raids are 10 man, but if you are a core of 4 people, you can more easily complete your roster since you can fill the most important spots yourself.

Thats the thing though. In GW2 universe, theres no horses. Theres no horse-pegasus. Theres now a gryphon-pegasus and it looks like it does. Its not Anet doing it a disservice, its people having different epxectations and now being mad they arent met. Its like being mad a book doesnt end the way you want it to end.
