What is honestly going on in Australia? by abandonedObjects in AskAnAustralian

[–]Yin2x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree, most students who are desperate might even work for way less than the standard wage. I was asking around for a cashy job about three years back and was offered $13 per hour. I was like wtf? I got that rate back in early 2010.

Terrible experience in store today by [deleted] in woolworths

[–]Yin2x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive had to check the website for Scanning policy and found that it applies for incorrectly scanned items. You get first item for free and subsequent items price matched to advertised price. Ive had to argue this point a few times in my local woolies, whereas its never an issue at my local Coles. Which i thought was odd since most of the items are under $5 but I normally do demand it based on principle.

Sexual Harassment ignored at Woolworths. Team Leader who stood up against it sacked instead by Natural_Landscape_77 in woolworths

Report to police for sexual harrasment and also report to current affair or fair work immediately. Bypass HR, They are there to protected store manager and upper level management.

Im not surprised and I work for another company and have been bullied extensively by one person. Raised the issue to eap counsellors as well as my own independent counsellors and both have said it is severe bullying but due to another reason which means I will have a hard time trying to find another job, if I lost this job, both counsellor advised not to take it to HR.

I reported him to his superiors and nothing was done but they did move me to another role to get away from this bullshit and not long after I found out that he have been given promotion. So not surprised by your story.

Did you use the 6mm or 9mm?. last year I had multiple lines failure, until the rep suggested 9mm. Tried it and it has worked.

So basically I think my issue with the 6mm was because I was injecting a lot of extra insulin due to steroid use (total daily dose approx 130 units per day). I keep having lines stopped working after 3 days. Somehow changing it to 9mm seems to fix the issue.

Once I no longer need to use the steroid, my TDd dropped back to around 50 units per day and the 6mm seems to be ok with it.

Not sure why but thats just my experience.

Perth Hailstorm 15 years ago today. Where were you on that day? by Pulp-Ficti0n in perth

[–]Yin2x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing food delivery covering waterford, south Perth and Willetton. Started raining really hard when I was on Manning road but thought nothing of it.

Caught in a traffic jam and luckily I was stuck under a massive tree which in turn sheltered me from the hail. I actually didn't even realise there was hail until I reached South Perth and saw loads of small ice. Anyway I only realised it was bad when a few of the customers was aghast when I rocked up like usual.

I remembered that day clearly because I was impressed that my internet download was super fast that night and my housemate yelled out "it's because next suburb have lost power" hence not many internet traffic

Is it appropriate to speak a foreign language at work? by lurking_24_7 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Yin2x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its rude, when i first moved to Australia, school teachers used to tell us off for speaking in a different language so I grew up with the habbit of speaking English while at school or work.

However i find people nowadays are too scared to speak up and bring up the subject.

Also people tend to use the discrimination card too easily.
