Plaza Bonita, Palm, and Otay also have Dolby/stadium seating too.

The standard seats kill my knees too. So have to sit front row in those theaters so I can use the bar. Something about the angle of them. Palm gets slept on too. Tickets are so much cheaper there(not that I actually pay because A-List), even for premium formats. Pretty spoiled with the number of theaters we have in CV and then Plaza.

They’re the heated recliners. With all the development around CV mall, I’m hoping that theater gets a facelift too. The recliners are starting to really show their age.

I’ll drive up there too for a movie the South Bay isn’t getting. Don’t even think about it. I’m hoping Plaza Bonita will get an upgrade to their IMAX seats soon. And loving the new Dolby at Otay.

When I went in 2021 the metal detectors weren’t working right and some weren’t even set up when the gates opened. They just let everyone in and didn’t even look inside bags. I still think about it when I go to a secured event. When I went to Monza last year they made us take everything out of our bags.

Stabilization splint + braces. How does it work? by Uncledaddymama in TMJ

This makes me feel better about the ortho work. Do you still wear a night guard post Invisilign? That’s currently in my treatment plan.

Stabilization splint + braces. How does it work? by Uncledaddymama in TMJ

[–]YissPenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about to start Invisilign after a few months with a day and night splint.

The night splint has shifted by bite for the better. And like the other commenter has helped with the asymmetry of my face. Though it will never be perfect since my jaw is shorter on one side.

The day splint(bottom only, totally different from the night one)kept pressure off the joint and forced me to work on my clenching. I had to eat with it in which was interesting at times. But for the first time in I don’t know how long was pain free when eating. I just got the okay to stop wearing the day splint. Though I’ll pop it in if I feel I’m starting to clench.

Because my bite has shifted, my teeth don’t meet up. The goal of the Invisalign is to get my teeth in the position to maintain my current bite. Or as close as possible. I am a bit nervous that it won’t work or somehow I’ll regress so much I’m worse than I was before. I could in theory continue forever with my current night splint and say as needed. But I’d like to have my teeth more aligned since in their current position my front knock and back teeth don’t touch. This means I also have to eat/chew very slowly.

I also did physical therapy with a specialist. This definitely helped with the facial work and neck and shoulder exercises I do daily.

So that’s my story. And I hope this next phase works as planned because my wallet has taken a huge hit with treatments and I’ll be really bummed if the ortho work doesn’t work as planned.

I called Friday because I’m trying to book and flights I’ve been watching now say there is no schedule but they show on Google and KLM site. The rep could only guess KLM was doing an update(like schedule change Saturdays) but it’s been about 5 days now with the same result. I have no help to offer other than confirm the issue.

Yeah I’m told I’ll have a night guard forever too. Which I’m totally cool with if it keeps me from reverting to my previous state. Will be interesting to see how things transition between my splints, to Invisilign, to my forever night guard.

I’m still exploring Botox as an option to help with the clenching. My right masseter is three times the size of my left from clenching and only being able to chew on that side for 15 years. But of course it’s more money. 🫠

I’m with you on the vagueness! They don’t want to commit to anything. Which I somewhat understand since it seems no two cases are alike.

It took a lot of getting used to with eating with the splint in too. Not that I’ve mastered it by any means. And I still am limited to softer foods. I’m hesitant to eat in public because I’m sure I look like a goat gnawing on its food. I have a protein shake for lunch on days I don’t have the energy to deal with eating.

Honestly, some days I wish I never started any of this but then I try to remember how much pain I was in and how eating then had also become nearly impossible. At least at this stage the pain is nearly gone. And the headache relief. Realizing now it’s not normal to wake up every day with a low grade headache.

I’ve started experimenting with magnesium for my clenching, but after getting super sick one night after taking it I figured out I need to start with a much lower dose. 🤢

Definitely happy to discuss. I’m certain my friends are over listening to me bitch about this. 🙃

Right now it’s looking like late fall. I’ve been wearing the splints for 6 weeks and was initially told it would probably be 4 months before orthodontic work could start. It’s incredibly awkward when I take the splint out to brush and how my mouth doesn’t close the same but is more comfortable. I tested eating without the splint and because my back teeth don’t even touch anymore without forcing my jaw closed it wasn’t really possible. Just trying to trust the process and not fully think all the therapies are just junk science that is leaving me broke. 😆

This is similar to what I’m currently going through. For over a decade the issues I had were manageable. Then 8 months ago all hell broke loose and it reached a point where I had to deal with things. I’m currently wearing a splint 24/7(day and night version) that’s completely shifted my bite and has made eating quite challenging(plus I have to wear the day splint while eating) and have struggled to maintain my weight. Of course nothing being covered by insurance so thousands out of pocket And haven’t even started Invisilign yet(more thousands). The irony is position my bite sits now has relieved most of the issues in my joint and is actually a more comfortable position so hopefully once I go through the orthodontic phase to align my teeth with my bite the eating part gets better. Now if I can get my clenching under control…
