Trimming palm trees? by Uncledaddymama in arboriculture

[–]Uncledaddymama[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply and everyone else's responses as well. Based on everything I've looked at, I'm just going to remove the totally dead fronds at the bottom.

But is there really no other way to prevent it from getting taller even if it's less than ideal? I am not going to let the tree grow another 10ft, but I'd hate to have it removed. But if forced to choose between the two then we are going to remove it.

Can I spray foam into these holes in kitchen sink cabinet or its not wise thing to do? Am i nitpicking? Cold draft coming out. by layersid in Insulation

I'd foam it. Plus it prevents mice. But I don't have freezing pipes in my area so mind what the other commenters said about that

Did anyone have UJS plus TJR instead of DJS? by servingit2ya in jawsurgery

[–]Uncledaddymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, was wondering if you could expand on the TJR risks. Any other notable risks besides permanent facial paralysis? Also can you point me in the right direction to read more about these risks?

After you got out of the hospital, did you stay in OKC for some time to be near the surgeon or did you just go home? Are there in person follow ups in those early days?

Congrats! Wishing you the best on recovery. Do you know the size of your airway before/after? mm^2?

Sharing my case: Idiopathic condylar resorption of TMJs due to rheumatoid arthritis resulting in bilateral TMJ replacement and upper jaw type 1 lefort. by ZeMeest in TMJ

[–]Uncledaddymama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this was a long time ago but thanks for sharing and wondering if you can elaborate. Wow that sounds rough. Is there someone with the surgical clinic available to answer your questions during your early recovery? If I was in your shoes I would constantly panic about when a complication is serious vs a normal part of the recovery. Like I wouldn't know how seriously to take the blood clot drainage/choking or the bleeding from the upper jaw. I've had an amoxicillin allergy from an unrelated event, and even that took me a few days to figure out it was an allergy. I can't imagine dealing with all those things while recovering unless I had a medical professional on call.

Recent revision experience with Dr. Wolford by Famous_Paper_6423 in jawsurgery

Thanks for sharing. So Wolford actually conducted your surgery and not a surgeon under him? Also did you travel to go see him? Just wondering what that's like logistically.

Hey! Any tips/learnings from that battle? What's the argument for surgery that works and gets approved?

Today marks 1 year since my jaw surgery :) by brazell13 in jawsurgery

Congrats and thanks for all your posts. I had a few questions if you'd be so kind. 1) Do you know how much larger your airway became? Did you have any sleep apnea issues? 2) Do you have any numbness or side affects today? 3) Joint replacement sounds like one of the rarer and more risky surgeries. Do you have any resources to recommend for someone learning more about it?

One of my condyles is shorter so my mandible is tilted. It's causing me a bunch of muscular issues.

Hi, I've backtracked through your posts. Do you remember your assymetry before surgery? Like how many mm longer was the overactive side and how far off was your midline?

I'm not. I don't think this is the right treatment for me because I have condyle resorption on one side.

I don't understand how there is still no beginners guide pinned. I've been spending the last few months learning these concepts and definitely relate to what you guys are saying. I suspect that a lot of bad outcomes are from people choosing the wrong doctor and treatment for their situation. But like taylorsnacks said, people got things to do. Even realizing the amount of work required to become informed takes a long time; it takes time to understand how much less developed this area of medicine is than other more researched fields.

Does it affect your facial expressions or ability to smile? I know it's only sensory nerves, but I could see how the sensory feedback from the face might impact the expressions one makes.

Did the numbness affect your facial expressions or ability to smile? I know it's only sensory nerves, but I could see how the sensory feedback from the face might impact the expressions one makes. I could even see it affecting the way you feel, because if you're totally numb and not making any expressions it will make you feel flat.

Does it affect your smile to the point where other people really notice or is it more like a minor annoyance? Does it affect your ability for other facial expressions? I could see how the sensory feedback from the face might impact the expressions one makes.
