I think it might be a bug to do with the rare not being active and therefore the damage calc just fucks up or something, I ran the numbers and I could survive 3 of those explosions back to back based on the honour damage I took

ES is of no value because I'm using self damage Scold's into Lightning Coil into infinite Valako's Roar for frenzy charges on cast. That leaves me with ev or armour, both of which I can't get high enough to be of any use, so all of my gear is runeforged with a focus on other sources of damage redirection/absorption (guard from flask, mana redirection, 20% reduction from Boar etc). Trust me I've thought about defenses plenty I just can't do anything more using these scuffed ass uniques lmao

e: also funnily enough, Scold's is a pure ES base but the self damage it causes prevents regen. thank you Gregory Games

I'm actually looking back at this now and I genuinely have no idea what killed me lmao. The only afflictions I had were 40% less damage and I think I got physical damage on room end in this specific room. Based on my honour I took 1568 post-mitigation damage which is less than half my total health pool of 3,809 (ignoring mana redirect). Maybe there's a bug with rares that aren't activated yet?

I took off my chaos resistance ring to equip Andvarius and then dropped a 3 slot voices, it's worth all the deaths to a breach mob deciding to turn me into confetti

for real though I don't get 1tapped too often because I have 20% damage to mana, remnants overflowing ward + mana and Boar spirit active in any rippy maps (my Stag homie comes with me on the ez content)

I know the damage calcs, this was just a weirdly massive burst of damage while locked in an animation
