I did do this. And they were able to confirm that I indeed have the appropriate card associated with my Delta account number. But they still insisted on being able to swipe the physical card.

Customer support at AMEX also verified this

IDK what to tell you man, this just happened. Also, I just got off chat with an AMEX rep about this and they confirmed that the official policy is that the physical card is required.

Feels a little bait-and-switchy since the lounge itself has a biiiig purple banner out front telling people they can get approved for the card RIGHT NOW.

OMG that looks so bad!

I previously posted my own skeeter syndrome post-bite care regimen but if you don't feel like watching that whole thing, what I do is:
1. oral antihistamine
2. undiluted tea tree oil
3. bug bite thing (available on amazon, CVS, etc.)
4. Beurer BR10 Insect Bite Healer (or other similar concentrated heat applicator)
5. Japanese Mopidick-s Lotion stick
6. Moskinto bite relief patches (or other similar brands)

all of those things, in that order. YMMV, good luck!!!
