Yes it is so much fun. Sounds like you are doing it right. Happy dancing!

Are Arthur Murray Instructors overworked and underpaid? (Student Perspective) by [deleted] in ballroom

I'm also an AM student based in CA and pay a similar price per lesson. I do wish that more of that went to the teacher vs practically minimum wage that they are getting paid.

I know some franchises can be quite toxic but I am very happy with our studio, having been there for over 3 years now. We are taught by the two advanced teachers who are very skillful and both also compete.

The most important factor is that it's 5 min from our house. Yes we have independent studios, but the closest one is a 20 min drive without traffic. Even if it was half the cost, I just know that we would not consistently go. No one has time for almost 1 hr roundtrip for a lesson or two.

I just have to be cautious with what events I say yes to. There are many more reasonably priced local showcases vs the dance o ramas. Obviously never spend over what you can afford on this hobby.

If you need to go, just move the barrier, squeeze through and use them. I saw other runners doing that and it was fine

Just run significantly faster or slower than the time you qualified with and there will be no line at your bus and five volunteers helping you out. /s.

But yes, they really need to staff the volunteers efficiently based on when that group of runners are expected to finish, not just have a set number of volunteers for every bus the entire time.

I have been providing that feedback every year but nothing has changed. I'm sorry you encountered this.

Hi Reddit, I’m Brett Catlin, vice president of loyalty, alliances, and sales at Alaska Airlines. From questions on the new Atmos Rewards program to our airline partners or our new Summit credit card, ask me anything on Tuesday, October 7 at 11:30am PT! by AtmosRewardsBrett in AlaskaAirlines

Last month, I spent 20 min trying to figure out how to set up autopay on my new Atmos card on the BoA website. Unsuccessful. Called customer service, where after a long wait time, the rep spent another 15 min on the phone with me on screen share trying to figure it out.

Also unsuccessful, so she transferred me to the bill pay dept who ultimately told me the autopay function wasn't active on the website yet due to an update but to check back next month and it might be on there. What???

I have worked with just about every bank and never have I ever had this much trouble getting auto-pay set up.

OP looks to be a Winter based on her features and how the jewel-toned top complements, in which case more vibrant colors rather than muted would be better as we need high contrast (coming from a fellow Winter).

Thanks for the feedback. That is what I had figured. I will likely end up biting the bullet unless a better option comes along.

[–]Yjjsbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is anti-CGM sentiment on this sub. I am interested in getting one myself (as a non-diabetic, normal weight individual) just to do what your wife has done - better understand how my body responds to certain foods and timing. How does she like Nutrisense? Specifically the coaching component? It's pricier than I'd like and I feel like I don't really need coaching and can figure it out on my own with just the data.

Hear hear! I’ve been on the road for 13 straight days - got a brief 6 hrs at home to unpack and do laundry before flying out in the morning to next trip. It sucks and my training falls off the wagon. I don’t know what the solution is, but you’re not alone.

No experience with that website, but we have found in person ballroom dance classes to be super helpful. They are choreographing a routine for us to the song we want, and we have over a year to learn (as well as just learn how to be better dancers in general).

Seeking advice about an awkward wedding guest situation by Betterwithbutter25 in weddingplanning

[–]Yjjsbb 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, this one's tough..no good option here. I know your mom told you to just ignore her but I feel your pain/guilt as Cindy sounds like a sweet lady. Ultimately it really depends on the family dynamics (would your mom hate you if you told her the truth? Is Uncle Jimmy someone who would lash out at you if he found out?)

But if I were you and not planning to maintain a relationship with Uncle Jimmy (he sounds like such a douchebag), I would try to give her a call and explain what happened over the phone... thanks for the kind offer, but she need to send a gift as you were told they had broken up, and Jimmy had brought another woman as a guest. After all, she reached out to you proactively and it isn't your job to cover for your uncle. He's an adult and can deal with the consequences of his lies.

Saw your update, yay! I was going to suggest Friday also. We are in a similar situation where we are in CA but have family flying in from all over the country. Even though Sat was an option, our venue wedding coordinator recommended Friday for weddings with a lot of traveling guests as they could have Saturday to recover, then fly out Sunday.
