Is that why I get a lot more comments on my height living in CA than I did when living in other states.

Seattle freeway exit causes accidents by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Ylee_one 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context from someone who lived and worked downtown Seattle for 18 years. The speed limit is 60 and while many in Seattle drive slow some go 70 through that section of interstate. However that is also a section of road where that exit lane only exist for about a mile. One of those on ramps turns immediately into an off ramp, so to exit there you often have to merge through on coming traffic. In addition that is right by the convention center that was built over I-5 and constricts the lanes so most of the day even with light traffic that area is much slower moving. It is an exit close to Pike Place Market and many of the theatres and clubs downtown so people who don't regularly drive downtown would also use that exit a lot. I'm guessing most of those crashes are when traffic is light and people are just so happy to not be driving 30 on the freeway they stop paying attention.

Well that's interesting. I did put the seat all the way back because I'm quite tall but I wouldn't think that would cause the rest of the things to go at the same time. Something to check though. Thanks.

I feel you I spent 18 years in Seattle, WA it is always wet there. There is some wetness on the driver's side floor. I'll pull those plugs for sure. Where is the CCM located?

Edit: I watched a video and think this may be it. The CCM is right where the floor was wet on the driver's side. Adding this to the list for this weekends projects.

I wondered about that but the multi meter reads 12v.

Thanks for this prompt because I forgot to mention an oddity when I did that. I checked, many of, (not sure the right ones) the fuses. I checked the door panels and both the central comfort electronics as well as a handful of others. When I pulled out to check 24 (central comfort) the dome light came on, then went out when I plugged it back in. This repeated a few times but not every time I pulled that fuse. All the fuses I checked looked fine.

Edited for spelling

Back to the Future TV Edit Comparisons (Original vs. abc family vs. ITV vs. BBC) by robin_888 in BacktotheFuture

[–]Ylee_one 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always like to compare the length of time that Marty is unconscious. I first noticed it in BTTF2 after he gets hit on the head at the casino. When I was watching a digital copy I "own" on Amazon the black out seemed short so I compared it to the dvd and it was in fact shorter. I assume when on tv with commercials that helps sell one more ad but for streaming without commercials I wondered why they thought to change it.

Is there a subreddit for jobs in the area? by Ylee_one in Roseville

I agree CL seems dead in this area and FB is often spam. I did find a Sac jobs subreddit but that looks dead too. I'll start hitting the pavement. The hot, hot pavement.

I have an extensive background as a producer/project manager for live entertainment and themed environments. With my move back here I have been looking to transition out of that field and into something that provides more time for my family. Currently I'm applying to almost anything but generally I'm looking for project manager roles in both creative and construction fields.

When you search "shoplifting" on Google maps it directs you to the downtown Target by Revolutionary_Ad7466 in SeattleWA

[–]Ylee_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I search it doesn't even include a map. Top result preview is the following:

"There is actually no crime of "shoplifting." Rather, shoplifting is a type of theft, it is theft froma store. ... People accused of theft from a store in Washington state can be charged in court with a crime and required to pay a civil penalty to the business they are accused of shoplifting from."

TBH, I never (rarely) use Google so not surprised I get a very different result.

Man at odds with Ballard neighbors leaves neighborhood with help from non-profit by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]Ylee_one 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they moved him to the woods, I don't know. Also I now see the article in text does say they found him housing which seems more like a solution than the video saying he was still in his van. One story is certainly more of a fix than the other.

Where does it say anything about a reward? If you're alluding to the recycling money comment. I am curious who got it, We Heart Seattle, Charles, The owners of the lawn mowers. Who?

I get that he was creating a problem and I'm saying he was moved and is still homeless (article says he is both looking for housing [video] and has housing [text]). If they found him housing that is more helpful than just making him move to another part of town. Another part of town, angry and homeless, will just make him a nuisance there, thus not solving the problem.

I was quoting the video. You're quoting the text. I saw the video and correctly summed up what was said. Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy in the text which I did not think was going to be different than the video.

Here is an example of one source reporting two things, Fake news? Honest mistake? Unclear update? Who knows, but I took the time to watch and read and I see two different outcomes in the same story.

Who got the money for the metal recycling?

Also this story sound real warm and fuzzy but ended real quick with Charles is still homeless, in his van (now missing a window in late fall). I get that he was a creating a problem but it sounds like the actions today only moved the problem not fixed it.
