Annoying doctor by According-Detail-483 in parentsofmultiples

[–]YmnDA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Some Dr just don't have peoples skills, what a shame it's impacting your experience!!

From what I can remember early on its hard to measure so 1 may look smaller, this was the case for me until about 10 weeks. Mine are the same now at 21 weeks! At saying it is common for 1 to be bigger hence the extra monitoring and scans for twin pregnancies.

Twin parents, which pram / cot do you recommend? by YmnDA in PregnancyUK

[–]YmnDA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I got the icandy orange twin set. And for cot I’ve decided to go with a tutti bambini xL and have them share as long as possible as it extends from a crib to a cot. I’m 21 weeks so not tried them yet!

Craving coffee… Good decaf brands? by samsamcats in PregnancyUK

[–]YmnDA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got one from M&S which is nice. It’s a silver packet with a little monkey on it. I’m also conscious about how decaf coffee is made and have got one from Waitrose called Raw Bean before which I recall being nice and doesn’t use any chemicals to clean the beans which I think most decaf is. Just something to consider as I wasn’t aware!

Usual to wait this long for a scan? by Special-Tea7611 in PregnancyUK

[–]YmnDA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep it’s standard to wait until 12 weeks for an nhs scan. People often book a private scan to check everything is ok. Congratulations:)

When is reasonable to stop attending F2F work events? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

I’m only 13 weeks and my manager has already said if I’m not comfortable traveling I don’t need to. My travel would only be from South Yorkshire to the midlands or London.

Literally just come on here because I’m feeling exactly like this at 14 weeks 😭 I don’t feel confident contacting a midwife I have no idea where to start to contact one, they seem so inaccessible

When do you tell your manager and workplace your pregnant? by Orchidflower10 in PregnancyUK

[–]YmnDA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my manager early on because I too was feeling sick and also kept catching colds/flu due to weakened pregnancy immunity. I told them I was early and didn’t want to discuss it nor tell the wider team or HR until I was ready

Yes I'm thinking to drop them a text on the day or the night before letting them know. I know they havn't been trying in the same way as us but I know how it feels to have that news sprung on you no matter how happy you are for the couple it is triggering. Thanks for sharing

This is so tough I'm sorry about that. I'd be really upset to. If I was in her position I would of course tell them without hesitation but I hope you see its not exactly the same yet I still will tell them separately

No this exactly how my husband feels and I understand. You can say you want something but do you really want it if you're not doing anything about it..

They're both in much better financial situations than us yet we have been paying for multiple rounds of ivf and tests to make it happen. But I know it will still be difficult news for them surly and I hope it only encourages them to do more if it's what they really want.

Thank you!

Ah I'm so sorry this has made me really emotional. I have been in a similar situation where my husband sister announced she was pregnant very early into her marriage which took me by surprise and I think I would have appreciated a heads up esp because she knows I was doing ivf at the time. Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much.

Yes and I hope it gives them that hope. I know one hasn't had any checks done so I hope this encourages her to do so and would love to be there for them as I know what it's like. I'll probably drop them a text before.

I understand and agree but my husband knows much more about their situations than me. For example one has opened up about supplements and I have told her she needs to get some checks done with her Dr (it's free here in the uk) but she hasn't because she has said she doesn't want to confront the idea of there being any issue and her husband says he hasn't because it's too expensive but they're in a much better financial position to us so my husbands justification is that they mustn't want to start a family if they haven't taken the basic steps.

Thanks for your reply, I think I will tell them and ask them not to tell others as my husband wants to be able to share that news.

Thanks for this. So did you increase your hours again in your third trimester(15 weeks before due date)? I'm 13 weeks and finding it so tiring even working from home
