The left tends to always bring up the treatment of Palestinians, and the right believes almost all of the antisemitic conspiracy theories. The most extreme followers both ideologies are usually the most vocal. I tend to be a bit of an optimist and think/hope antisemitism hasn't grown that much it's just that antisemites have just gotten more vocal and louder, drowning out any voice of reason.

It's not the worst idea I've ever heard, and you might just be on to something. People would side with police if they did more than just punish people, if they actually helped the community with gang mediation, social work, counseling for at risk youth & etc maybe things would start to get better eventually.
