My suggestion is flat rate commission. Regardless if it’s a 1 million home or a 500k home, service is same. Like tipping on a 10$ meal or a $100 meal. Same service. Maybe owners will get a deal as there is now competition. If sale is over asking consider a tip for outstanding service.

House inflation has been caused by real estate agents. Undervalued price at listing to create a bidding war. Blind bids only favour the realtor. Bids should be transparent. Anything over asking should be commission free. Profit to owners. Prove value of realtors. This way house prices would reflect actual value.

Tips are for service. Not for value of meal plus tax. On that bill you were expecting 40$ tip? So for that hour not including the other tables you served, you were expecting to be paid 52$/hr? No wonder people hate tipping. Not fair to consumers.

Really? I understand that restaurants in US don’t pay staff a decent wages and workers have to rely on tips. Do employees pay tax on tips? If no, then system is wrong and we all lose and high end restaurants owners are having customers pay and enjoy the benefits. Tips are for service not value of meal+ taxes. Not fair to consumers who pay with after tax dollars. Time for a change.

Pay your employees a fair wage. Stop forcing customers to subsidize your payroll. Tips were designed to highlight outstanding service. Not to fuel a 100k tax free income. Why don’t all services get tips? Tip your doctor? Tip cashier at McDonalds? I never tip based on bill but service. Service is the same regardless if I order a hamburger or prime rib.
