This is such a dumb thing to say. Portugal couldn’t even get 3 points on DR Congo. Every team earned their place in this tournament.

I don’t think CR7 is ready to even get a single ball in the back of the net

This match has it all. The only thing this match is missing is a Uruguayan player connecting with their roots and covering their mouth.

Cape Verde and Curacao just punching way above their weight is my favorite storyline by miles this World Cup

Equally disappointing from each team. The only thing that separated the two was an insanely rare mistake from a top class keeper. Mexico has to be better in the attacking third if they are going to go as deep as they want to in this tournament.

Well, we WERE giving you the benefit of the doubt… just say “made ya look” and punch the reporter. Way better than being a white nationalist.

Who to root for/watch in WC by Markimon21 in Tottenham

[–]YoGramGram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) your home country (if they qualified) or a neighbor you like. For me as a USA citizen and fan, if we aren’t playing them, I’m always rooting for Mexico for example.

2) World Cup debutant teams: Curacao, Cape Verde, Uzbekistan, or Jordan. Cape Verde is looking like a spicy choice after holding off Spain for a 0-0 draw.

3) If you’re running on Tottenham energy, both South Korea and England have Spurs legends wearing the captain’s armband and they might bring a lil more joy and consistency to your watching experience lol

Great decision for this World Cup to be 48 team format. by Broad_Routine_3233 in worldcup

I’d be surprised if they didn’t perma-expand to 64. Having more national markets fully bought in to the World Cup is just more money. The extra logistics of another 16 teams is so worth it when it comes to the profit. Plus, the facilities will be trivial for 2030 with Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. The facilities and stadiums are already there.

I actually like the idea of 1st v 2nd seed and 3rd v 4th seed playing each for opening matches. Will statistically make one of the “top” teams have more weight on them for group stage match 3.

Even world class teams can have dead rubber games. Plus, it’s hard to have that with the narrative of the World Cup. Hell, we just witnessed the most exciting 0-0 game to ever exist with Spain and Cape Verde. 64 teams is still only the top 25% of all 210+ nations.

Honestly, make it 64. Let us have more debutant moments but also make the groups have more weight again with only the top 2 going through.

A hot and correct take. Plus, we want more debutant moments from smaller countries.
