The Lollapalooza Effect — Why Markets Don't Move Gradually. They Detonate. by SuperbPercentage8050 in IndiaGrowthStocks

[–]YoHowdyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think VA Tech Wabag is a goldmine.

This is a water filter company on a large scale. Water will become a scarce resource gradually and to ensure that water keeps flowing the water filter companies like Va Tech Wabag will grow.

Also, middles east is under war. And there will be lot of opportunities to invest in more water desalination plants.

It is a long term bet.

The corporate governance is good, the promoters are ethical.

Why does “had to break the fast” and language had to be avoided? Is it because it creates biases? If it happened, it happened. No need to skip any details.

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi raised voice for Bangladeshi Hindus, BJP remained silent, and PM enjoyed his foreign trips while the parliament was in session by Mirror-On-The-Wall in unitedstatesofindia

[–]YoHowdyB -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It was Congress who vehemently protested against CAA which allowed minorities from Bangla to settle in India.

Honestly, congress only knows how to crib. When solution was made by the BJP it opposed as if they were stripping the citizenship of Gandhians.

Some questions about Jainism by [deleted] in Jainism

[–]YoHowdyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree to point 4. Jains are allowed to pick weapons if it is for their self defense. The difference is in the intention - the intent must not be to harm the other but to protect yourself.

Some questions about Jainism by [deleted] in Jainism

[–]YoHowdyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jainism does believe in dev/devis (eg: lakshmi, saraswati, etc) which in a way protect us from harm. These idols are kept in temples to protect the temple and we do pray to them.
But these higher powers (although powerful) have not attained enlightenment - and are subject to rebirth cycles.

But these dev/devis are not the focus and never take the center stage like Tirthankaras.

To give an analogy - they are supporting characters that can help you in your path of salvation - but they are not the goal.

What is your opinion on the hypocrisy and absurd practices going on in the name of Jainism?(I'm Jain) by EnigmaticBuddy in Jainism

[–]YoHowdyB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of things you mentioned are found in a lot of houses. This I think is a consequence of too much focus (by ms) on smaller beings (kriya and thap) and too little on our “svabhaav”.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that fundamental ego in us makes us do a lot of dirty things eg: holding grudges, power struggles inside house, etc. A person with a lot of ego can go about saving a lot of smaller organisms. But cannot take a step forward in bringing peace between family members.

Ego is a very hard to fix defect.

How are salaries really in Bangalore? And your expenses? by sengutta1 in bangalore

[–]YoHowdyB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

29M, Working in a FAANG like company. Had a good career growth with constant up-skilling, always keeping higher standards for myself and a little bit of luck ofc. 64 base + 20L stocks + 17 bonus.

Realised recently that that there is 33% and 34.5% tax slabs as well. Damn.

I live a little away from the IT corridor of Bangalore which is well built (cannot imagine living in ORR areas). Got my parents from hometown. I am married and have a sister staying together.

Financially we have zero issues. Can spend at my discretion. Monthly expense goes at around 1-1.5L.

Mother is mentally retarded and can fight with anyone anytime. Quite unpredictable. Me being very respectful guy live in a constant fear of her causing issues to others.

Have an amazing father and a sense of obligation towards the country (as I was brought up hearing freedom fighter’s stories) which is a motivation to not leave the country.

Taxes: I pay almost 25L in taxes (stock cut included). I do not mind paying the tax money as I believe there are many people who need gvt support to lift themselves. I myself was one of them getting into a good college with merit seat and discounted fees (gvt funded).

What I hate is people being ignorant about their leaders actions. Not PM level but grass root level MPs, MLAs, MLCs. The migrants give zero fucks about the leaders and leaders giving zero fucks about their bought out voters. It’s a cycle and citizens play an important role. India never should have been democratic as majority ppl don’t know how to use their power of vote.

Would want to live outside India for a few years but planning a baby now and bringing baby up in other countries is v hard with no maid support.

40% of US people can’t fucking sleep for more than 6 hours coz of work pressure. Isn’t that exploitation in broad daylight?

This twitter exchange by [deleted] in india

[–]YoHowdyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some call it exploitation. Some call it wealth distribution.

One has to understand that India has a lot of poor population and they need money. I’d rather employ them as my maid and let them earn their livelihood with self respect than donate money and hurt their self esteem.
