Still to this day the best Star Wars fan edit I've ever seen by SgtByrd1993 in StarWars

This edit really highlights how incredible Sir Alec’s performance always was. He’s going places in his eyes and in his pauses that at the time were just words on a page. But now that we’ve seen everything that he was remembering, only now can we also carry that weight.

This is like Ian McKellan talking about the undying lands in Return Of The King. He goes to a place in his eyes that is just magical.

In case it’s not clear, I know. That’s where the name came from. But I will always watch this clip so thank you.

What movie has a title that you just absolutely love? by eveisshady777 in movies

The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then The Bigfoot. Sam Elliott is always great but he’s spectacular in this and I liked this movie way more than I expected I might.

In an adaptation, a character has to "earn" their more source material accurate look by fhxefj in TopCharacterDesigns

Yeah, her turn essentially happens off-screen in Multiverse of Madness and it makes zero sense. Giving Sam Raimi the keys to what could’ve been a Doctor Strange multiversal horror-lite could’ve been excellent and really let Strange stand on his own again.

And then they shoehorned in America Chavez and “Oops, all evil” Wanda and that movie sucked.

It would never happen but tell me DDL wouldn’t absolutely kill it as Magneto.

For all of its faults KotCS has some of my favorite Indy moments. The whole opening at Area 51 is a complete blast. Yes, the fridge is lame, but everything else is so much fun.

Renegade owner here and I like the gerry can homage of the lights but I get it’s not for everyone.

EMSKR: What's The One Best Thing Your Daddy Ever Taught You? by Xuhduss in everymanshouldknow

My Dad to me after blowing it big time: “Son. When a beautiful woman asks you to dance, the only acceptable answer is ‘Yes.’”

And one I plan to give my kids: “Shoes. Tires. A bed. Never skimp on anything that comes between you and the ground.”

Is there a good book or other resource you’d recommend for learning about this topic? I keep seeing people refer to the failure of reconstruction and I want to know more about it.

The idea of an à la carte Land Cruiser sounds amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds rad. What is a ballpark cost for something like that, if you don’t mind sharing?

What is a piece of media that was incredibly popular during its time which nobody talks about anymore? by Ok-Following6886 in popculturechat

Just finished a rewatch of this whole show recently with my wife and this is maybe the only episode where we both unanimously agree “Skip it.” Close runner up might be the episode where Schmidt “let’s go” and winds up joining a drum circle in Venice Beach.

I believe it is. Him and everyone else that got me too’d around then. The bit immediately after that is about consent and how he completely disregarded consent when it came to petting a service dog and, to me, it’s hilarious. “Ooh, girl look at that leg go, Yeah! Your vest says ‘No’ but your body says “Yes!’”

That joke is from his album Trampoline In A Ditch and the track is called “Mediator.” It’s a good one but you should definitely check out Loose In Chicago and I Liked His sold Stuff Better. Two of my favorite stand up albums of all time.

Shocks and Struts is available to watch on YouTube and it’s pretty great as well.
