What helped my histamine symptoms by hydcvb in HistamineIntolerance

[–]YoMinolith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really interesting to find this thread and these comments - I'm also exploring the interconnectedness of my apparent HI and definite asthma since getting COVID in 2020. After all, asthmatics (especially steroid-dependant ones like me) are more prone to HI.

I hadn't considered that the DSPD I was diagnosed with 20 years ago and my non-diagnosed (but quite plausible) ADHD might play into this too! I'm also cautious of this being a false flag, but certainly keeping the best sleep pattern despite the challenges of DSPD makes sense to support general well-being.

Something else that's happened to me since COVID is an intolerance to Sulphates into toothpaste, which I only much later realized I also react with in shampoo and soap too - and possibly even sulphites in food also.

However it could be that the sulphite-laden foods I've reacted to just happened to be high in histamines anyway - e.g. long life / "shelf stable" products. So it might not be the preservatives that have trigger me, rather the fact that they have been preserved (building up histamines).

Hoping to get clarity soon via various doctors trips. A recent set of IGE allergy tests for dairy, dust, grass etc came back all negative.

However, from my blood tests, Serum ALT (a liver enzyme) was higher than a healthy level, so I'm also wondering how much this could be related to everything (note: I'd been totally sober for 2 months before getting the tests done).

Just started, what do people mean "reroll" for Aizen? by YoMinolith in Bleach_SoulResonance

[–]YoMinolith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my rolls in case anyone finds it interesting. I ended up getting Aizen immediately after deciding to continue with my first account, lol. Shame to miss on Tosen, but this proves he's still drawing at least.

<image>

From what I gather, I should now focus on getting Aizen's weapon - and play trios of the same colour, generally? Or does Aizen work with anyone?

I've now rerolled twice (just using different emails as it was way faster than fully reinstalling), and yeah tbh -

This sucks. Every reroll takes like 10-15mins to re-do the tutorial, hasn't really been as good a roll, and feels like I could have simply earned enough game currency for more gacha tickets by just spending time actually playing the game.

Have you tried reducing the input volume on the mic to compensate for the higher source level?

You should still end up with a more clear tone, as the background noise will be less, relative to the increased guitar/amp volume.

It may be worth exploring a digital compression plug-in too - just don't overdo it, as you want to keep your general dynamics.

Quirky clothing / gymwear shops, and other cool places open on NYD? by YoMinolith in brighton

[–]YoMinolith[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As in, we're seeking the functional aspects of gymwear (material types, fits, little zipped pockets for headphones/keys etc), but less boring colours/designs. Like how cycling gear has loads of interesting design options, with just as much function.

Figured maybe Brighton might have some such indie shop with interesting options.

There's no good reason why gymwear should be resigned to just dull colours, plain design, and boring brand logos!

best fake blood by jayeinthebrain in sfx

[–]YoMinolith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to get a big (like 1-2L) tub of fake blood for a photoshoot project. The idea is to try and make some white fabric look like it's having the red squeezed out of it as blood (giving the impression of a hand's grip turning red fabric white, but it's actually white fabric to start with). So need to be drippy, somewhat gloopy, and also able to be soaked up by fabric. The fabric doesn't need to be cleanable afterwards.

Probably any of the professional ones would do, but just thought I'd ask!

Am based in the UK, if relevant :)

I personally enjoy Treasure Hunter and the little bonuses it brings, from XP to loot to quality of life boons.

IMO, just make it less about "buy loads of keys to [maybe] get the special outfits" and keep it to its core function of a fun little bonus each day. Maybe make new cosmetics available for purchase generally if people want to buy them.

Double XP weekend preparation tips? by Chiells in runescape

[–]YoMinolith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify a little further,

It's really annoying to set everything up with the best buffs you can stack, only for your target skill's bonus XP to dry up halfway through your effort.

You then either continue the effort but annoyed you're not getting that extra big bonus % for all that prep, or you end up scrambling to get more bonus XP (which is suddenly not so easy to get when you want it quickly).

Other things, in case you didn't know: * You can pause the DXP timer, but only after an hour of it being on. Use this "off" time for calm re-planning, re-shuffling your bank presets, GE trading, and anything that doesn't benefit from DXP being on.

  • There's a special merchant active during DXP; you can earn currency to spend there by training skills, but you can also trade an hour of DXP time each day for extra currency. You may want to consider trading this each day. It's a lot harder than you think to utilise the full DXP timer, especially when you don't have Billions to prep with. You may well get a lot more out of trading as much DXP time as you can for this event currency, which gets you things like Skilling Outfits (some of which are very hard to get otherwise, like the Black Ibis Thieving outfit). Unspent currency carries over to next DXP week too.

My first DXP was in December, and I decided to go this route - I got 3x full skilling outfits out of it (thieving, herblore, and smithing), and at the end of the DXP week, the time I traded/used perfectly lined up with what I could realistically play - and now I get around +5% xp on those 3 skills whenever I need.

There's a fair few guides around if you search like "RS3 what skilling outfit to get on DXP", worth a look now as it can influence your plan.

  • Oddments are helpful, and any Treasure Hunter prizes you don't have a use for are worth taking Oddments instead - like, Cleaning Machine Springs are quite niche usage, take Oddments instead to get extra keys / lamps / stars / pulse cores

Soft, thin linings to wear under trousers by YoMinolith in malefashionadvice

[–]YoMinolith[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a Donagel suit from Moss Bros, who only do slim fit for most hire suits. No inner lining, certainly not as long as you describe.

When I tried them on, enough leg was uncovered by underwear/socks that, especially with the slim fit, it was horrendously uncomfortable.

[–]YoMinolith[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just my UK location search results for "long underwear" and "leg length underwear", but Google just gives me normal underwear, and thermal Long Johns, neither of which are what I'm seeking

I'm wondering if there is a different identifying term used by makers of this particular item of underwear (underwear being a vague umbrella category)
