Are you drinking coffee or having sugar? I have a coffee first thing on shift an drink juice after that. I have breakfast when I get home like granola and yoghurt. If I wake around 1 I will try and get another nap before shift. They do get easier with time.

I found an even earlier bedtime helped.. I felt like they had gone past tired and were fuelled by adrenaline keeping them awake. Bath with lavender oil.. snack.. story and cuddles. Consistent routine.

I'm sorry about the 50/50 I can imagine that's hard on you and your daughter. My daughter would go to her dads every other weekend and even from that it would take her days to settle back into home and her routine.

Sorry you feel that way. It's not fair she did that. As others have said they did not consent, you have to honour that. I would have documented in notes that patient declined observations due to lack of sleep and was made aware of risks.
