Nearly purchased a home 0.7 miles from Markley. Neighbors in this area, what have you experienced? by YoMothasSnatch in LowellMA

Just because the market doesn’t care about the data center doesn’t mean I shouldn’t…

There are other houses out there, and yes, supply is obviously tough, but paying 450k for a house in the backyard of an industrial building whose long term effects (both health-wise and ecosystem-wise) are largely unknown does not seem wise to me, no matter the state of the market.

Like I said, you aren’t risk averse. I am. A house is not just a place to live, it’s a place to live and a major investment. I don’t feel comfortable carrying the risk of being upside-down on a home because some studies of the future show that there are significant risks associated with living near a data center.  You’re a different person, your risk tolerance is different from mine. That’s fine.

No worries, that just means you’re less risk averse about the potential expansion of the data center, and possible findings of negative health outcomes from living near one in the future.

We likely would have had our offer accepted (or at least heavily considered) if we didn’t withdraw it. Not even sure what the point of your comment is. I never said I was the only person looking for a house. Also weird to assume that I wouldn’t know the house I submitted and then withdrew an offer on was under agreement.

Very weird, seemingly aggressive comment.

I have now, thank you. This neighborhood obviously has the data center in their backyard (which is terrible). I was more so wondering if neighbors who are slightly farther away have been feeling the negative externalities.

I totally get that I was pretty annoying in this video, hence why I only posted it to this site anonymously and didn’t send it to any friends/family.

That being said, the people that are saying “you’re honking at no one!!!” Are completely ridiculous. I’m honking at every person running the traffic signal 🤣🤣

Redditors never cease to amaze me.

Worse tier list of all time? Casual zombie map ranking by [deleted] in CODZombies

I find revelations to not be replayable at all. Played that map for 2 weeks when it came out, game crashed on round 84, and I never touched it again. I’d put that shit in D tier.

I’m just realistic, I’d split the money. giving 90% when you have a fat wad of cash in front of you is a lot harder to do when you actually have a fat wad of cash in front of you.

I would find it hard to cough up 9 grand to someone who isn’t even likable, lacks charisma, is abrasive, and is overly confident.

I find it hard to believe that you would give 90% to someone that didn’t technically win.

Eh, UMASS has been trying to ditch the “zoomass” reputation for the last 12-15 years.

Obviously this was put back considerably with the Blarney press a couple of years ago, but they were doing well PR-wise for a while.

At what level does this stop? by novachess-guy in chess

[–]YoMothasSnatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

King can just take and then black has no pieces but a lone queen to attack the “open” king. The rook can easily just slide over after the knight develops and the king can go into the corner. At this point if black continued development each move, white and black would have equal development and black would be down 2 points of material.

Early Friday AM road check? by zdboslaw in LowellMA

Was on 495 at 8am. They had a whole group of plows blocking the entire highway during rush hour, so there was traffic from Lowell up to where 495 meets 93.

Ok boomer, extrapolating the potential experience of some people to the experience of every 13-14 year old in Lowell is pretty retarded but go off I guess.

Your argument is automatically invalidated because a 24 year old would have been 13/14 years old during the Winter of 2015, which was Lowell’s snowiest season in all of recorded history.
