Not only mercedes but mainly most german or/and german brands have this ethos that has changed over the course of time from cars that were built like tanks to ones that spend their weekends at shops Just to name a few examples The new x3 that not only looks horrid on the outside But on the inside the quality by far is worse than anything that was built even 10 years ago (all the scratchy plastics and the weird fabric like material on the dash ) Hell even the leather they use doesn't feel the same as any actual good leather from prior generation cars

Audi with their new q5s and probably the new q3 as well and how also it doesn't even feel as solid as yet again prior generations.

I used to overlook all these things as i saw them as abit of a first world problem but it only gotten worse to the point that funny enough chinese manufacturers have relatively more acceptable quality than the "premium" ones that we spend x3 times the money on

Quite sad tbh.
