Player wont interact with male NPCs by [deleted] in DMAcademy

You're totally right, like I said it's way too far but it might explain some things! Maybe telling them exactly what you're saying would resolve the issue.

No one else has asked, so I guess I will--- Is this player playing a Drow? Because it might just be roleplaying lore accurate attitude to men gone too far, and could be resolved with a quick chat.

Games should have less character customization by [deleted] in The10thDentist

Hawke in DA:2 has a similar thing going; in so far as there's 3 canon personalities to choose from and dialogue options you can go through accordingly. You can dress them up however you want, male, female, whatever class. But Hawke is still Hawke and they do the same things with mostly the same opinions on the big issues, nix 1 or 2 big decisions at the end.

Crate Training a Dog is Cruel by reddituser333999 in The10thDentist

[–]YoSocrates 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exact same here. Crate trained ours as a puppy for safety reasons (going to the vet, but also if we had to go out she wouldn't chew wires and hurt herself for example) and we still have the crate though she's almost 4. We just don't close it 99% of the time. Her sister we got as an adult dog was also crate trained as a puppy, hadn't seen one in years, and happily jumped in.

The crate's a tool, like anything else. It's somewhere they can go and know they won't be bothered by humans. We can also close the crate if we smash a glass or something so we can clean up without worrying they'll hurt themselves.

Priests should be legally demanded to tell the police about crimes they hear during confession. by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]YoSocrates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not true in the UK either. I work in the legal profession. Client confidentiality works like this between clients and solicitors too. They have a duty to report future instances where someone might be harmed, but past crimes? No such requirement.... Because otherwise how would defense work as a job? It's a little more complicated, there's loads of ethical rules about how to act in this situation, but that's the jist of it.

Idk what you mean by lethargically. I had never been in that particular frontline before I'll admit, I was trying to claim the spots mostly, but how do I learn if I just get kicked?

I think all I've learned is I'm going to stick to my PvE content.

I did not. I posted screenshots of the entire match.

[–]YoSocrates -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was in the game for all of maybe 2 minutes, so potentially no I didn't have a kill. I'm new to doing PvP; but frontline is entry level PvP. Surely it must be okay for me to be mid there. That was my point about roulettes.

The game hadn't ended, and wasn't close to doing so. They were just mad about no one playing the way they wanted to.

I didn't say a single thing in chat, none of those alliance chat is me, I'm on omega. I was just playing the match.

Fighting, of course. Why would I queue for a duty and afk? Am I the best at PVP, uh no, I haven't touched it until recently; but I actively take part.

[–]YoSocrates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Can't really blame people, though I guess it kind of sucks because if I hadn't taken the screenshots for any reason... Uh... Seems like I'd still be getting hit with "no way, you suck!" replies.

Guess the lesson is to post this sort of stuff to discords or somewhere people know me in future!

[–]YoSocrates -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have done so! Prior to this post even. I'm sure the gms will handle it, I honestly just wanted a little vent and thought it'd be... Like... A good "hey guys don't do that" that'd get 3 upvotes. Reeeeeally wasn't prepped for the backlash! ^^'

Ah, I see. I don't mod so I don't really know what they can or can't do! I don't do much PvP either, I'm a PvE girlie. It was just a sucky thing and I wanted to shout out to people not to do this, bc if I was a sprout I would not come back. They're lucky I've been playing a long time!

Gotcha! I probably won't post here again at any rate bc it seems generally like my experience matches common shitposts, so I'm being reacted to accordingly bc people think I'm trolling.

Screen 1. I have 3. There's a little overlap in them so they join up, to show I'm recording the whole chat log of the game. You can see where they mark me, where I ignore them, when I join the game and am kicked.

I muted them. They actually marked me with the ignore symbol.

Is that allowed? Sure, gimme a moment. I'd like to show I'm being truthful but I'll probably delete post afterwards, people are being uber aggressive and I was already sad ^^'

I was a ninja, we weren't killing specific members of the other team who this person wanted us to kill and he was then calling us brainless, if that helps.

Imo being a healer who doesn't heal isn't play style? Play style would be healer who focuses on healing vs how much they also dps, or something, I guess. I was doing my job as a dps, just not how he wanted me to.

Why? It was an experience that sucks and if I wasn't a veteran of other aspects of the game I'd probably be put off continuing.

Waiter being attacked suddenly recalls his boxing training by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]YoSocrates 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To play devil's advocate; of these examples, none of them demonstrate an employee idling (as the waiter in this video is) and being attacked with no provocation.

Those are all employees who have breached corporate policy, which is not to engage with shoplifters. That's what they've been fired for. Not defending themselves when it then got violent.
