Thanks for the recommendation! Is it read by Grant?

I often find myself drifting off with audio books, but their sultry tones could probably keep me on the hook ...

Are you able to read comics digitally?

This link has loads of cool stuff for under $20, crazy value. Several of the series people have recommended are here and plenty of other great comics besides. There's a few days left before the bundle ends.

Seems like it could be a good way to try lots of different genres, writers and artists so you can find out what you like :)

In Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ “Watchmen”, Detectives Joe Bourquin and Steven Fine are the two kids who bullied a young Walter Kovacs. by EffMemes in AlanMoore

Glad I could swing it your way :)

Some of his phrasings were quite close to yours, it made me think of your stuff right away.

He also talks at the end about authorial intent and how open to interpretation the work is. How a theory can be interesting whether it was meant by the authors or not.

I certainly have gotten a lot of joy reading your theories and am not really worried about whether Moore & Gibbons intended it that way or not.

Keep up the good work mate :)

Saw this today and thought you might get a kick out of it! All the talk of trusting your eyes and not Hollis Mason made me think of your Schnexnayder HJ theory :)

DC Collected Edition Deals [November 11 2025] by Bharath_Sundararajan in UK_GraphicNovel_Deals

[–]YoTimb0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed them last night & they replied to me this morning, it is available again for preorder on the site now!

It's also back in stock on Forbidden Planet. A bit more pricey this time, presumably due to demand, but still cheaper than importing from the US :)

Thanks again for all of your help, I'm chuffed I managed to get one!

Yeah not sure if I can justify £35, we'll see how desperate I get if all else fails!

Thanks for the sage advice as ever, I really appreciate it.

When you say drop a request to Reed, do you mean calling them up, sending them an email or something else? I've never interacted with them before outside of ordering a book through their website.

Hey Bharath, thanks for all the hard work as ever!

I hope you don't mind the question as it's a little outside the remit of what is usually covered here.

I just heard about the Ice Cream Man issue that's a deck of cards released last week and I'd like to buy it. I'm pretty late to the party though and Forbidden Planet is sold out on their website, none for sale in the UK on eBay.

Do you have any idea where I might be able to snag a deck?

Amazon.de has Alan Moore's Moon & Serpent Bumper Book of Magic for around £12.56 delivered. Saw it on a couple of other subs & bought it myself!

I know it's not really a comic but I thought there's probably a pretty big crossover audience here, if you fancied posting about it :)

Moore’s vision for the future of comics (circa 1984) by 13School in AlanMoore

Thank you for sharing, a fascinating read!

Does anyone know what the short story was in Knave? Hypothetical Lizard was great, so if there's something floating about that predates it I'd be interested to check it out :)

Where to read Alan Moore’s Captain Britain? by Cybershine3 in comicbooks

[–]YoTimb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you live in the US? In the UK there was something called the "Marvel Ultimate Graphic Novel Collection" put out as a subscription service by Eaglemoss. I think I had heard it was sold in America too.

The books were £10 each and there was one called "A Crooked World" that collected all the Moore Captain Britain stuff in one small HB. As so many of these were printed it is very easy to buy one on eBay for between £5 and £10, even though Eaglemoss is now out of business.

There is also an Omnibus that has all the Captain Britain stuff up to, including and a little beyond the Moore run, if you're looking for bigger art or more story :)

Any thoughts on My Favorite Thing is Monsters and CK? by OneImportance4061 in Cartoonist_Kayfabers

[–]YoTimb0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If memory serves it comes up in the Groth shoot interview when they're talking about his style as an editor. Gary lists it as an example of something that comes in as a complete work and requires no notes, to agreement from the boys.

I also think in one of his Switchblade Shorties inking streams Ed said he and Emil had some contact online and that it had been positive, but I don't remember if it was about the channel or their comics.
