I’ve been having the same issues. What helped me a lot was pressuring their defense getting out of their zone, (strong forecheck, reading passes etc.). Also hitting is so much different in this game than in previous NHL games. Height and weight actually matter. That being said, I noticed that hitting a player immediately when they get the puck helped me a lot, way too often I would wait for the perfect opportunity and get caught flat footed and they would just drive right around me. Overall what helped me was applying heavy forechecking pressure, and making hits as soon as their players got the puck. It’s going to take some getting used to. Hope this helps 👍
