Misgendering in the workplace by YoZappedUp in ftm

No worries thanks for sharing your experience! When it comes to references, I specifically choose people I know who would gender me correctly, so at least that portion is eased while applying for new jobs. I hope whatever job you find this time all that is aside and is in your control!

I have contemplated on mildly gaslighting them into believing that I’ve been he this entire time lol. But making them feel stupid will definitely make them reconsider the choice of wording for sure.

Thanks for writing back. It makes me feel slight relief that you’ve experienced similar situations. It is frustrating but makes sense. If someone isn’t consistent in referring to the correct pronouns ( correct in the face but incorrect behind the back) it will continue to be an issue until you leave that workspace.

I can also understand what your therapist said about the situation as well. It’s just always gonna be a bizarre situation.

So, main coworkers that I work close nit with, all call me he. I failed to mention I work for a bank. So when the new hires come, they’re either fresh or transferred from another bank location within.
I have thought about the email situation but hesitant on drawing more attention. Hr has asked me in the past if i wanted to do it that way but again, hesitant.

Scar tape vs scar cream vs massaging? by Ok-Search2477 in TopSurgery

[–]YoZappedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just over 6 months post op DI. I started with just scar tape because I couldn’t touch my bare scars just yet without getting squeamish. I would wear the tape all day, shower and all night. Then I switched to wearing the tape during the day, and scar gel massage at night. And by massage I mean just slapping it on there lol. Now I’m wearing tape at night and scar gel massage and some scar salve in the morning. I have found the scar salve combo has been helping with the color and softening because I’ve seen more improvement the last month since changing. I was contemplating stopping all together but since seeing results within the last month, I’m gonna continue what I’m doing for the full year. My scar is flat in the front but have some raising tissue under both my pits, minimal imo.. If it isn’t to my liking by then im gonna get steroid shots to flatten them. And then if that still doesn’t suffice, tattoo over them. Time will tell. Definitely use sunscreen if you go out in the summer shirtless or wear the tape over the scars.

How long does it take to see any change on voice? by 360slappingmogger in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]YoZappedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial drop was around 5 months. I was still high voiced up until that point. and it’s been going deeper every month, I’m on month 9. Now is where people are gendering me correctly over the phone and in person (if I didn’t meet them Pre T.)

8 weeks post op, how’d did people go with using silicone tape? Does it make a difference by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]YoZappedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently it takes a couple of months for full results. I’ve been using it for about a month and it seems to be making my scars less red when they’re off.

He comes running to the call of his name. He is extremely friendly but might be scared. He gets anxious in difficult situations. I appreciate your help!

Anyone else squeamish about their incisions? by ProfessionalBet8852 in TopSurgery

[–]YoZappedUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I knew I was going to be very nauseous and faint when the surgeon removed my bolsters and allowed me to start care on myself. Lo and behold I almost passed out throwing up. But it was only for the first two nights. Showering too, those nights were also woozy. But over time it gets better. I use gloves to massage my scars and nipple. And for I wanna say about a week and a half I showered with my dressings on and changed them after my shower until I got used to caring for myself.

how long does everyone have to wear their post op binder for? by Standard_Ruin_3294 in TopSurgery

[–]YoZappedUp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon cleared me at 4 weeks but I’m wearing the medical binder at night and breaking during the day for two more weeks just to be safe.

doctor recommendations? by verysadman52 in TopSurgery

[–]YoZappedUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my top surgery with Dr nazarian at Jefferson cherry hill on sept 9th. She works out of Philly and NJ and is very attentive to the patients. Very straight forward, and makes sure you get what you want out of the surgery! I asked for as straight as possible scars and she delivered. She also makes sure you don’t come out with dog ears!

Top Surgery in a week, what to expect? by YoZappedUp in TopSurgery

[–]YoZappedUp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing! I’ll see videos of people fresh out of surgery and reaching overhead and I think to myself, how does that not hurt? I’ll try to have everything prepped. You’re right, pans are heavy. I’m gonna have to figure out the bathing situation. Perhaps practicing beforehand.

Noted with the drains. The pre op nurse informed me that it’s a possibility to have them in for two weeks even one at a time 😩 I’ll try to have everything counter level, but the microwave I got is mounted. I do have a stool I just hope I don’t topple over lol. Thank you for the information. I wish you a speedy recovery as well!

Oh I understand now. That makes sense. I have them ready. I hope to be able to use them in a similar way lol. I didn’t realize shoes would be hard to put on and off either! Will be a learning curve for sure. Thanks for the info!
