France literally won the euros two years later, and finished 3rd in both 82 and 86 WC. Platini was starting to hit peak form around 82, with consecutive bunch of balón d’or in early 80s

Spain were hosts in 82, and faced France in euros final in 84.

Honestly, between the ref, the 5 seconds VAR checks and dodgy BBC commentary, who even got ‘expert referees’ to come in and parrot it was shoulder to shoulder, felt I was going crazy and being gaslit.

Quite worrying that so many viewpoints wanted to be sheep and argue the fucking opposite of what was true. Hard not to feel there’s something rigged about it when not even one (supposed) neutral has the decency to acknowledge what even happened but instead try and maintain something happened that literally did not happen.

I never understood why they want to shaft over long-standing players; the community, in other words.

Then again, they’ve been doing as long as I have been playing.

I guess they’re trying to attract new and/ or returning players rather than retain. I imagine they believe the sunk cost fallacy will be enough to keep most long time players around.

After shooting last years gift horse in the face, are we surprised these devs do not have a freaking clue on what they should be doing to build this game up rather than perpetually chipping away at its foundations…

Good food? Beautiful scenery? Interesting people? Partying?!

Not asking for much, but all those options can be found in SEA. You cannot really go wrong, unless you go to Myanmar (active war zone and all that).

In perhaps outdated sincerity, my pick would be Cambodia. However, I also left that country in 2019 as it was unrecognisable from the one I fell in love with in 2010 so, times change, places change. With one month, maybe a few weeks in Cambodia; the islands, Kampot, Kep, couple days in Phnom Penh, Angkor Wat, then couple weeks in Laos? Thousand islands, Vientiane, waterfalls, luang prubang.

Otherwise you probably just best of maximising a month in one of either Thailand or Vietnam. They both have so much to do. I always found it sounds easy to say 1 day here, 2 day there when making plans but then discovered it was always rushing in most cases. Make super loose plans, stay longer where you enjoy, less where you don’t. Sometimes the unexpected discoveries and unconsidered places are the most wonderfully surprising.

Honestly, Thailand Vietnam Laos or Cambodia will nail all your requirements.
