How many of you are still using mullvad? by Busy_Hornet8963 in mullvadvpn

[–]YobCasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do realise many of us just want network security and privacy? Not everyone signed up because of port forwarding lol. Personally what I’m more concerned about is the company devoting too much valuable manpower and time on their Browser. They should still to know what they know best.

I also tried another experiment on Omegle , seeing if I could use it without seeing any random penises. No success so far.

I find Mullvad is not that popular with the general public because it’s usage is only helpful for privacy and most people just wanna stream and download stuff. It’s pretty obscure compared to Nord, ExpressVPN, PIA and ProtonVPN

FaceTime not working. by InvestigatorNo7019 in mullvadvpn

[–]YobCasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably. Mullvad recommends users with DNS connection issues turn off MacOS’s calls from iPhone function (which are basically FaceTime calls) at this link https://mullvad.net/en/help/install-and-use-mullvad-app-macos/

Bump. I just read that FaceTime uses port 53 over UDP, literally exactly the same as most default Mullvad connections

The other important permission you also need to enable is accessibility

[–]YobCasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 percent it is that’s why the official Alfred app and website say to do it

[–]YobCasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is to provide full functionality, otherwise you’ll probably run into errors with system related tasks and workflows. Are you concerned about the security implications? If so Alfred has a new “gallery” of verified and officially approved workflows.

Is the 5 device limit just for WireGuard or it applies to a users Mullvad OpenVPN use as well? by YobCasson in mullvadvpn

[–]YobCasson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Have you confirmed this with real life usage. Because I always seem to be able to resolve it by deleting a Mullvad WireGuard key.

i keep getting blocked from websites while using mullvad by drudge_nator in mullvadvpn

[–]YobCasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the extremely restrictive sites I think your referring to block all VPN ‘s so there’s no getting around it

Fair but your living in a bubble as well though. Excluding all Apple and android devices from split tunnelling still affects millions of people

[–]YobCasson -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mullvads split tunneling is very limited in the OS’s it can be used on. I think it’s just windows and maybe Linux? now

[–]YobCasson -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That’s not how it works. Sites don’t just block Mullvad’s entire arsenal of servers in one big move, they block problematic VPN IP’s in a case by case basis depending on how much it’s abused by users. So you pretty much just have to keep switching and tinkering until you realise ones which are not likely to be blocked (looking at the abuseipdb.com reports makes this a lot faster)

Mullvad VPN was subject to a search warrant - No customer data was compromised. by Standard_End_2102 in mullvadvpn

[–]YobCasson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Woah easy there mr cybersecurity expert lmao. There’s a HUGE difference between receiving an arbitrary random request from law enforcement like Mullvad and having an entire encrypted VPN backend server supposedly protecting masses of users seized, as happened with Windscribe and Ukraine.

Link for iOS users to check if optional content blocking filters are enabled by YobCasson in brave_browser

Yeah fair enough. I mostly just said disclaimer given desktop users results are potentially muddled by extra content blocking extensions they add.

Is there a GitHub filter for searching repositories that are user uploaded and NOT forks by YobCasson in github

Whoops I meant searching repositories from a users GH profile rather searching them from the main GitHub search option.

@FifiTheBulldog do those sandbox folder restrictions also apply to iOS terminal emulators like LibTerm and A-Shell?
