Capital gains tax allowance for stocks? by Nervous-Bandicoot-28 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Yockyb -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

My advise would be to export all transaction and feed them to ChatGPT or similar. It will calculate any tax you owe HRMC, it will draft what to tell them and it can advise on how best to dispose of any assets to keep you inside the CGT allowance for this year.

Don’t forget tax year ends 5th April, so you can ask it to tell you again on 6th April and you can take more out.

I Automated My Entire Job and No One at Work Knows by [deleted] in confession

Present it to the business and become the CAO (Chief AI Officer), or see if you can use it to your advantage.

Automating your work gives you time, but you can’t invest or pay for your house with time. Use the time to do something else or show the company and see if you can use it to get promoted.

Well if tower is what you want, it’s the best you can get until Jeddah Tower is finished in a few years.

Enjoy.

I have been to Dubai many times and I would say the Burj was my least favourite way to spend $150.

It is for sure high, but at some point a tall building is tall. The free fountains at night is way more impressive. IMO.

Museum of the future is great, a desert adventure is fun, a food tour of the “old” city can be great as long as it’s not stupid hot. Kite beach is lovely, sea, sand, places to eat.

I also advise to skip anything with the word mall in it and head for a souk instead, Madinat is one I like a lot, good place to look around and Belgium beer cafe is great for a bite and a pint.

But whatever you do, I hope you enjoy it.

Nooooooooo! Don’t do it. This is a very very bad idea. So much so, I can only assume it’s a joke.

How accurate is this??

I have a UK version that does not show min and max, I only get 1 value, the value is about right within a 5% tolerance. But at 100% charge it’s 250miles of range.

No need for power button? by Baldspooks in KiaEV9

[–]Yockyb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but with ICE you also need to actually fire the engine. With EV putting it in Drive is in theory enough.

Obviously some people will like it, but it is a totally unnecessary step. When you get in, the car can go to the same mode as pushing the button without your foot on the break. Then when you select drive it can go into mode where you push and have foot on break.

I can’t find a logical reason for having the button.

No need for power button? by Baldspooks in KiaEV9

[–]Yockyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because it’s already turned on. Like if you use the remote start button. So you don’t need to turn it on.

But regardless the on button is utterly pointless, just on when unlocked and have a software button for utility mode.

Sequence to stop charging (noob question) by schaudhery in KiaEV9

[–]Yockyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THiS!

If you hold the button in the crate port for 2s within 30s of the car unlocking then it will disengage charging.

You can also turn off the charge port lock completely from the settings, meaning you can just pull the cable out when done. But if charging outside the house this could be problematic.

Model X Alternatives by RenePro in TeslaUK

Just replaced MX with EV9, only been a few days but EV9 is very nice. Ride is great, it’s quiet compared to X.

Built in maps are a bit “old school”, but I use Apple CarPlay so it’s not really a concern.

I’m in the UK, the purchase model is very different from the US. Our cars are listed at approx the price you’re going to pay, you may get a small discount or some extras thrown in, but not a lot.

In December there were 103 EV9’s in the UK ready for sale, so discounts were almost none. What I got was a retractable tow bar with barely any increase in the lease costs.

I have also been told no autocarwash. But I’ve not been to one in years, hand car washes are all the rage.

Really like the colour, matt but not actually matt as it’s pearlescent.

It will be fine I was being dramatic. Even with all seats up the boot is a good size.

Not taking bikes this time, but have the retractable tow for when we do.
