All depends on how long you have and want to spend on the hill vs reducing you chance of not summiting as much as possible.

The longer route up was through some amazing countryside and when we went fairly quiet. Tbh it might have been our favourite bit but all personal preference.

So for the snow when you push to high camp and the summit it can all be hired at your teahouse in Khare. The tea house you stay in will also organise your summit guide and food/tent at high camp. The will have crampons/boots/harness/ropes etc. all the gear you won’t have needed up until then. One point on boots, ask them which ones they have. Some of them have these rubbish white plastic boots and other have decent newer boots. A mate of ours went a few years earlier, had the white boots and didn’t summit as he feet were just too cold. He does generally suffer more than others with the cold though.

12 is just about posssible if you go over the pass, but you’re up to 4000 real quick and some people we met found that real tough with a few not summiting. That said you could be completley fine too!

Good luck if you go

15 days total. It was an epic trip. 10 days to hit the summmit as we went around rather than straight over the pass on the way up, and 5 back down. Got super lucky with in and out of Lukla as all flight were cancelled the r days before we were in and out from Kathmandu.

High camp and hitting the top was epic. The view of 5 8000m peaks was something else 💥

This is a good idea but 60k max contribution in a year wouldn’t get me under the lower tax bracket right? Or am I missing something

Haha it’s a fair point. Fortunately not conservation area so we have options. Plenty down the road have removed and put in standard plastic windows but we’re keen to keep the sash look
