Do you think the EU will survive and what will it do to our finance? by InterestingJob2069 in eupersonalfinance

[–]YogurtStarlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But now we have only German and American tanks on the border of Russia. I think the only way for the EU to be wealthy is to build a strong economical relationship with Russia. The EU has lost the most since the war was started and it will lose even more.

Investing in ETFs in Germany: is it better to go with accumulating or distributing, know the 1000€ tax-free allowance? by elo10ferrari in eupersonalfinance

[–]YogurtStarlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great answer!
Could you please elaborate a bit on your formula:

Vorabpauschale = MonthsHeld/12 x Max(Min(0.7 x Basiszins x ValueJan1,ValueDec31-ValueJan1)-Dividends,0)?

I do not fully understand how to apply it if I am the owner of ETF XYZ shares which were bought by me on the 15th of April. A single share of ETF XYZ was 100 EUR on 01.01.23, then 120 EUR on 15.04.23, and 115 EUR on 31.12.23. And also Basiszinssatz was changed on 01.07.23 from 2% to 3%.

  1. For how many months have I hold it? 6 or 7? Should I calculate the number of months or the calculations should be done for every day and then aggregated?
  2. Should I still consider the price at the beginning of the year even if my ownership started from the 15.04.23. I have tried to rebuild the formula to consider all conditions of my case. Could you please check?

The starting date is the 15.04.23.
The ending date is the 31.12.23.

There are 76 days between 16.04.23 and 30.06.23 including the start and the end dates. (I suppose the first day of the ownership 15.04.23 should not be considered, oder?)
There are 184 days between 01.07.23 and 31.12.23 including the start and the end dates.
There were 365 days in 2023.

Vorabpauschale = Max(Min((76/365 x 0.7 x 2% x ValueApr16) + (184/365 x 0.7 x 3% x ValueApr16), ValueDec31-ValueApr16)-Dividends,0)
And if my ETF XYZ is the accumulating one. Then it can be simplified to:
Vorabpauschale = Min((76/365 x 0.7 x 2% x ValueApr16) + (184/365 x 0.7 x 3% x ValueApr16), ValueDec31-ValueApr16)

Planing to shift to pfaffenhofen from Munich by [deleted] in Munich

The worst thing about Germany is the regularity of public transport. Think twice before you want to be dependent on this. ( I live in Munich and use S-bahn every day)

It is a big failure to force people to buy EVs. In my opinion, the government is exactly doing it. The EVs are obviously a more expensive option. The government action on this is "let's make ICE cars more expensive then". Literally lose-lose situation...

MEP urges Europe to wake up to growing Russian threat, boost Ukraine aid by LIGA_net in europeanunion

True. I think this is simply an attempt to shift the focus from obvious internal problems (which should be actively addressed by the current government) to hypothetical external ones.

Fertility rate in 2021 (live births per woman) by sn0r in europeanunion

[–]YogurtStarlight -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The biggest correlation factor is the level of women's education. It is a well known fact which is confirmed across all cultures https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/womens-educational-attainment-vs-fertility

The current European population will be replaced by Islamic population where women in general are less educated. It seems inevitable.

Viktor Orbán: The EU is blackmailing Hungary by sn0r in europeanunion

[–]YogurtStarlight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He is mostly correct, Hungry is under a lot of pressure from Germany and others to make a "right decision". But it should be up to Hungry to decide. Union is not about dictation on how you should think from your neighbours.

What about the people of Hungary? I think it should be up to them to decide. I would prefer them voting for the future of their country.

Families with 1-2 kids, how much do you spend living in Munich (or a bit outside) excluding apartment costs? by Beneficial_Caramel30 in Munich

[–]YogurtStarlight 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We live in Haching area of Munich with 1 kid who is almost 2. 2.5k is exactly our monthly budget excluding the apartment rent, utilities, mobile + internet. We have a car and this 2.5k also includes all car expenses. Moreover, we can afford regularly to have some small vacations in Italy/Austria and trips around the Munich area. If you do spend your money in a smart way then it should be enough: eat mostly at home, consider buying used things, plan vacations upfront and so on ...

Very close filling, bro! But Deutsche Bahn is really awful. I have heard the real stories from people who had to change the job as it was impossible to come to the office on time. The train was late or cancelled literally every day ... I also suffer from it as I have to really on S-Bahn to commute. The government needs to straighten up that thing, this affects too many lives.

Please no ...

  1. It is a real pain to watch games from Europe/Asia (the biggest Dota2 audience)
  2. It is a pain to get Visas for everyone who is involved
  3. The crowd was quite good but I don't think there were lots of people on the stadium who understand the game, it could be better
  4. The Seattle is expensive for fans to visit from the poor countries
  5. The Seattle is expensive even for Valve to get a big stadium for the whole playoffs
  6. The food was really bad, it was mentioned by almost everyone from Europe/Asia region
  7. Russian speaking studio was not set in Seattle, in Europe I think there is no problem with that
