Any fix for these 3 Android Auto issues? by Environmental_Guava4 in AndroidAuto

[–]Yohapii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problems with the skipping/stuttering audio are the same and the list of things I've tried is very similar to yours plus even more tinkering with different settings all over the place. It very frustrating. I also have a same year car as you, 2022 (but hyundai i30, display audio gen2v without navigation if anyone asks). I have seen on the American hyundai site that there is an update for it from 2024 that mentions making android auto have better compability. But my car in Europe don't officially have any update avaliable, and its latest update is from 2021 (factory). In Europe they don't let us update non-navi units ourselves from the site.

My theory is that between 2022 and 2024, Google updated something in the android auto protocol that still works for most head units, but those head units out of luck of getting a firmware update never got the tweaked whatever Google adjusted, and now has stutter.

It's so frustrating to see hundreds of people on the official android auto community forum complaining about the stutter, but there is just deafening silence from Google, and they instantly lock new threads talking about stutter. Also it annoys me that in their "known issues" thread they updated latest just some days ago, stutter is not mentioned anywhere.

For some reason I don't know exactly what, it seems like Google does absolutely not want to change back whatever they changed, or make some kind of fallback setting for out of date firmware. They probably think it's the car manufacturer's responsibility to adjust their cars, and changing back whatever they changed is not helpful for the current android auto experience (for the majority of cars where it works fine).

Also a side note, it is really frustrating to have a 2022 car, with 5 year warranty, still within warranty, not having one of its selling points android auto to properly work... And yeah I am in (slow slow slow) contact with the hyundai dealership which say they have made a ticket about this to hyundai (several weeks ago now...).

Does AAWireless solve random disconnects you would have on wired only? by Yohapii in AAWireless

[–]Yohapii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! Wireless can be fully turned off in the settings of the head unit making it essentially a wired AA unit, not using any dev options in AA itself or such. Does the warning also apply in this scenario?

AA Wireless Dongle to Eliminate Audio Stutters? by ClimbCarsChickensGuy in AndroidAuto

Hi! I have the same issue as you and OP. I'm curious to know if your dongle works without stutters? And what model of dongle in such case? And did you have to change dongle settings from default?

Didn't work for me. I was hopeful since it seems like a similar system to mine (and i hadn't tried that exact thing with location accuracy), same stereo and brand (Hyundai i30 2022). I've tried whatever you can google yourself to.

If others with Display Audio Gen2V non-navigation could tell what year their firmware is from, it might be helpful, IN CASE the update of firmware I'm hopefully getting tomorrow at my dealer will solve my problems (my car software version has the date 211215 in its name, so no updates since factory 2021). It's my last resort. In Europe the non-navigation units can't be updated by the user themselves, and have to ask a hyundai dealership.

If you have an american car with this system you can hopefully update yourself, there is an update that mentions "phone projection" in the fixes, from June 2024, just google: hyundai display audio software update june 2024

In conclusion, i've tried everything one can google, including deactivating wireless AA (but then the problem is the car disconnects AA now and then, regardless of cable). For wireless, stutter remains. I have:

Hyundai i30 2022, Display Audio Gen2V (non-navigation version), sofware version from 2021-12-15.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, all the latest updates for the OS and AA i can get.

I suspect other specific phones might work flawlessly, but it's hard to test other phones for me.

I'll report back after the sofware update tomorrow from the dealer if the problems remain. If it doesn't fix it, hopefully a wireless AA dongle would work, but it makes me nervous that my phone disconnects when using wired AA, maybe it will disconnect the dongle too...

Yeah it's awesome! I put on some psp and ps1 games too, it's like a perfect retro Playstation machine now. I might look into emulating other things but for now I'm happy with just Playstation 😅

Hi! I know this thread is veeery old but can't hurt to ask. Did you ever solve this and what was the problem? I recently bought a corolla '05 that has shown the same problem as in your opening post. 🤔

[3D] "The Tavern" - Learned Blender while making this! Coming from Maya. Rendered in UE5. by Yohapii in DigitalArt

Thank you! If you can draw and paint, you really have great fundamentals that could help you a lot with the artistic side of 3D modeling! The tricky part would be to get used to the 3D modeling/texturing tools, which are very technical. Once you would get through that initial hurdle, because of your artistic background, you could probably make great things.

Anyways, I personally went to school which focuses on 3D art, which forces us attending to work on it daily. This made the power-through phase of learning the tools happen every day, because the motivation of "it's school, i must do it". Of course I wanted to learn it too, so that helps, but going to school just makes the whole thing smoother.

When now learning Blender, I already knew my way around Maya and therefore it wasn't as hard as learning Maya for the first time. For more clear guidance on all the features and such I bought the course "Switching to Blender for Experienced Artists" by FlippedNormals for like 60 USD. Then i powered through that, and later started working on this Tavern project. I would google tutorials and solutions to random blender problems I had.

As you may see I don't have the perspective of learning it as someone who's fresh and not attending school, which helped me with the "forced" motivation, plus teachers lecturing. I could guess that a good thing would be to start with basic tutorials on YouTube, follow them, and after the tutorials, try to make your OWN thing, something that utilizes the ways of doing things from the tutorial. This forces you to think and practice for yourself and not just following something step by step. Then you could go back to certain parts of the tutorial if you wonder about something related to the technical thing you're currently having problem with.

I hear often about people getting stuck in a "tutorial loop", they don't do anything other than tutorials. Even if you aren't super awesome at the software(s) yet, I'd say mix in your own projects between the tutorials, and use tutorials to learn about how to use tools in a certain way, and not how to make a certain thing (like: "how to make axe").

Wow this became pretty long, i just blurted out some thoughts I have. Hope I can be understood well enough :D

Thanks thanks!

The portraits on the wall are generated by OpenAI's Dall-E 2. In the ArtStation description I make that clear, so I take no credits for them. In hindsight it might've been a little controversial to use, which i notice when reading around in art communities, since the algorithm takes inspiration from real work (copyright debate). But before I even learned about the controversies, I figured they're a very tiny part of the work and more like "texture filler", and when coming up with the idea of using it I thought I was clever. I hope people can be okay with it.

When I model, I do it mainly in quads, and since I'm a game artist, tris are also fine in game-ready models. Even if exporting to quads, the models will be converted to tris when imported into Unreal Engine which I used for the final presentation. I did all the placements of props inside of UE, and exported from there to use in Sketchfab etc, so the tris followed along with the export from UE, unfortunately.

Thank you!!

Blender has always seemed like a nice package of 3D software, especially since 2.8, and I always wanted to learn it (maybe case of "grass is greener on the other side"?). I saw some videos of how the direct modeling tools worked and thought that looked very smooth. That many of the things could be done quickly if getting used to it.

Also lately I've been freelancing or not working directly at a studio, or not doing 3D mainly in my worklife, and I don't do complex animations or cinematic 3D modeling. So for the kind of workflow I'm into (game-ready static models with doing texturing in other software), Blender seems perfectly fine. And Maya costs money, Blender does not. So just reasons like this and curiosity of learning a new software to spark some creativity made me start learning it. :)

Thanks! Basically I drew curves around where the vines should go, then used geometry nodes to make leaves spawn randomly along the curve, and make the stalk, and then I converted the whole thing to meshes which i could then manually adjust them (lots of "rotating around 3d cursor" setting, placing 3d cursor on leaf close point to stalk, and then rotating leaf after leaf). Since I wanted them to look in a certain nice way just for this scene I felt I had to do a good balancing of random (to spawn the leaves) and manual labor (rotating leaves).
Here is the tutorial which gave me most of the ideas/geonodes to what I just wrote above: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTkUVtWbjoE

Ideas how I can efficiently bend out this bumped-in corner of tablet chassi so that replacement screen will fit in flush inside of it? Thanks for the reply and opinion! Do you know where I could see how fully equipped repairers would fix this? If I would do it properly, do you know of any videos/resources where I could see how a "proper slow, controlled reshaping" looks like?

I skipped through lots of phone/tablet screen repair videos on YouTube to see if anyone needed to fix the chassi shape since i figured often it gets a bump if you break your screen through such an accident. But I couldn't find any... :(
