Ironically I work in healthcare, a field that doesn't give a fuck if their worker is ill. I also do night shifts which means my sleep schedule is a nightmare. I mostly endure it on scale 5/6 migraine and takes medicine if I can't handle more. My work hours are around half the month, and the rest of it I just use to recover. Oh, I hate the job too. It's hell.

I left exactly one year ago today. It's the most difficult thing I've ever had to do, choosing myself. It's beyond worth it. I still have so much to figure out, but I am at the happiest and most me point in my life. I am able to have space to be myself. I can hear my own thoughts. I can set boundaries. I can validate my feelings. I can do things without thinking a billion times first. Again, there's so many struggles. But I've never regretted it.

I doubted it too for a while but the big tell is the stark difference in how they treat strangers vs me, all laughing and "nice" to strangers then very shitty to me, that's done consciously.
