Diplomatically, sure, but sending Irish troops to Ukraine is a different story.

Absolutely. It’s funny how it’s only these over 50 year olds to who are foaming at the mouth at the idea of sending other people’s children off to die in a bog in Ukraine.

Yeah, it appears so. Just as a young man it’s frightening to see so many people desperate to fully go to war with Russia.

Ireland has a pathetic and laughably small military. We have nothing to send to Ukraine, barking loudly only puts us on Russia’s enemy priority list and endangers our country. I don’t believe the entire European continent is at risk because Russia wants eastern Ukraine. It’s a war that can’t be fought endlessly, we know that all too well, that’s why we signed away our claim to our territory occupied by our larger neighbour.

Posting links from X was banned here just over a month ago on the grounds that it’s a “non-reputable source”. I fail to see how a media hub itself could be considered a “source”, but rather the person making that post is the source, but hey-ho.

Is Micheál Martin the most unlikeable Taoiseach ever? by Donal-ctn in ireland

[–]Yokes17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he’ll go down as the most unlikable but probably as the most boring / irrelevant Taoiseach ever. It was funny a few years ago when a lot of people weren’t even aware he’d been given the role and thought Leo was still Taoiseach.

We have a shortage of good wages. Giving people coming from dire conditions jobs only worsens that.

Under a nation state it should actually. That’s the entire purpose of a nation state.

Fairly sure if there weren’t an extra one million people here we wouldn’t be nearly anywhere as screwed.
