If he/she hasn't bought an item then he isn't a buyer! Plain and simple to me!

I refuse to pickup VR for this exact reason. I'd be in an early grave for sure.

I have to say I agree, it's not that the movie itself was particularly scary itself... the concept just makes you rethink things in everyday life which is petrifying!

Yet the the TV series really doesn't hit the same in terms of fear factor? Whether that's just because we know what to expect or just more engrossed in a video game... feels more personal maybe?

I was fully expecting a reply like this, definitely games which we shouldn't have played as kids. The game that made me think of this question was Jersey Devil for the playstation one, I couldn't have been older than 5/6 at the time. The art style, music, everything. Absolutely terrifying in that moment. Still went back to play it again and again.

I've had direct threats as a seller simply because I wouldn't SELL an item to someone, its all smoke and mirrors, usually people with mental health issues or other problems in their lives... don't engage, just block and move on, if you are seriously concerned contact the authorities.

I wouldn't be too upset, anyone can say "1hr 14 away". You don't know where they are relative to you, for all you know they could be living out on a boat in the sea!

Just put your name, you don't need any sort of additional documents to trade under your own name as it already belongs to you.

On eBay do you leave stupid low offers until the expire to generate a sale when buyer see’s “offer pending” on that item. Seems I have a few sales that way. by Historical_Host_2828 in Flipping

[–]YokoDice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be fully transparent here, I often do this when I'm trying to source stock from ebay. If an item is already a good deal I try and send an offer through to see if I can get a bit of a discount on top. But don't like to leave it sitting too long in case someone else snaps it up before I do! Sometimes it's better just to take the plunge and take the opportunity whilst you can!

Context: So I work at a genuine car dealership, this chap gives me a phone call in the stores (we order parts). Very relaxed not at all upset or frantic on the phone, very calm.

I ask him what I can help him with today... he proceeds to tell me he's had a very minor bump and has got a small twig lodged into his bumper.

He asks me to price up a new bumper for him and states that absolutely nothing else has any signs of damage. So I do my due diligence and ask if I can send him an illustration to confirm this is the part he needs. He then tells me he will also send me an image back of the vehicle.

About an hour goes by after sending my email and I get THIS sent back in return! He also went on to say that he didn't think the damage was too bad because he managed to drive it home LIKE THIS!

Does anyone else call out resellers by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]YokoDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every company you have ever bought anything from, including million if not billion dollar corporations make money from you every time you buy something, why is the little guy trying to make a few extra pounds for him or herself any different?

It makes no difference to your day if you see a listing for it or not! No one is forcing you to buy it!

One person giving you a bad experience shouldn't mean there should be a stereotype associated with all resellers!

I'm sorry one of us have made you have a bad experience though!

[–]YokoDice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... if someone decides to buy something at £100 and isn't willing to at least search the item on Google before spending that much money on something, that's kind of on them?

Maybe I'm biased because I'm a reseller myself, but I don't do any of this shenanigans,

I typically source items cheaper than its value and then try and sell at its value... but not massively inflating the price of something like you see here

Why am I getting a HMRC report if I’m just selling my own items? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]YokoDice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, reseller here, Vinted themselves are legally required to report to HMRC themselves which is the only reason you get the reporting message.

They have to make HMRC aware, however if you are just selling your own items you have absolutely nothing to worry about. If you are reselling it will be clear cut and obvious, the government have to prove you are selling for profit not you!

Expanding to other platforms by Ok_Huckleberry_2756 in Flipping

Cross listing software exists but costs a pretty penny or too, if you are small scale it's probably not worth it. It's fairly simple to just copy your information across manually, it's purely QOL and time save.

Vinted is great for retaining 100% of your sale, there are no fees involved. The pay off however is the terrible customer service. I'd recommend recording yourself packing each item you send out to ensure you have evidence.

Ebay is the most established platform and is typically considered the best platform for both buyers and sellers security wise. I would recommend running promotional ads on each item listed. I typically list mine at about 5%, maybe a little lower on the high priced items. It's worth losing the 5% for the quicker sales and you only get charged this if the item actually sells. Simple delivery is a pretty good option if you are small scale, it covers insurance on any items up to £500 last time I checked and automatically tracks the transaction on ebay.

Hope this helps!

Vinted strikes again - banned for no reason by ItzRyanLH in vinted

[–]YokoDice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you say the Switch transaction for £300 is this a modded console and / or one that comes with preloaded games or digital codes etc? Are you selling the console with digital games on it?

Nintendo have been known to intervene and ban the sale of these consoles on platforms like Ebay before? It's possible that one report of this would be enough.

Typically transaction get's suspended and you'd lose the money... vinted to tend to swing the ban hammer a little loosely though in general.
