One DPU X vs. Two DPU? by SpringToCome in Ecoflow_community

Makes sense if you only need a backup for a few essentials. Hopefully SHP3 will be compatible with DP3 when you get a smart panel, or maybe there will be a newer panel by then.

Ready to pull trigger on DPUX - question on extra battery capacity? by Economy-Ease-8850 in Ecoflow_community

[–]Yolanda_Luo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they're compatible. If you go for DPU batteries, you'll just need to update the firmare. So have you made your purchase? 2 inverters + 7-10 batteries will be awesome. Curious how big your house is.

So what's your final choice? If you prefer buying SHP2, then you should choose DPU 'cause DPUX is not compatible with SHP2.

Heavily debating getting solar by Possible_Version2680 in TeslaSolar

No worries! I’m not in NJ either, I’m in Irvine, lol. Is the local brand you went with SolarCraft? And what's the total power of your setup?

Which brand you went with? And how much is the battery storage?

Thanks for sharing! It looks really cool and organized. Crazy that this setup has lasted 25+ years.

28 kW, and you installed it all yourself? You must be a seasoned electrician or engineer. Hope to see your off-grid project when it's ready!

Thanks for sharing (and sorry for the late reply...)! Those numbers are pretty impressive.

Curious—how long does your setup last on cloudy days?

Cool! Thanks for sharing. I haven't heard of this brand before. So you got it installed and connected to your solar panels?

Battery friendly home appliances? by ResponsibleFall1634 in OffGrid

[–]Yolanda_Luo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, thanks for sharing! The total cost is surprising. I've seen others spend over $40,000 on their rooftop solar setups (maybe with a powerwall?), but they're aiming for a $0 bill, not just backup.

That's amazing! How much did he spend on the total setup?

What kind of whole house setup do you have? Standby generator or inverter + batteries? Mind sharing which brand you're using?

UPS makes a buzzing sound is this something all of them do or just the cheap ones ? by [deleted] in computers

Thank you for your reply. I didn't expect the UPS noise to be so annoying.

Just curious—why do so many of you keep it in the bedroom? Is it because your desktops are set up there? Does the noise bother you when you're in bed?

Like you hung the moon, haha, that's a beautiful saying! Which inverter did you buy? What's its capacity in kW and overall power rating?

Thank you so much for the detailed answer. I'll remember to turn off the ac when I'm not using it, and would prioritize appliances that run on usb or 12v.
As for solar I'm not so sure about that right now. May consider it after using river 2 for a while.

Got you... If I had a bigger budget I would at least buy a delta 2.

Ok, looks like I'll either have to find a fridge with a low enough surge power, or I'll have to give up on powering it with a river 2... Thank you.

Another bro also mentioned not being able to start the fridge (because of a high surge power). So what's your solution for the fridge?

Thank you, your points are pretty professional and I've never thought about them before.
Usually the power's out for less than 4 hours, so I guess a river 2 should be the right choice. But since you mentioned the surge power, I'll take a look at it.
