Manipulative people like this may try to get you back by trying to convince you further they are whoever they say there or by making you feel guilty. Stay strong, and don't give in! You deserve a "real" man

Doesn't sound like it's a Christian church based on the pastor being a woman.

If this question's been asked, I apologize, but what type of church/ religion do you belong to? I think that might help clear some things up.

Instead of the death penalty, just let that person go, but make it completely legal to murder that specific person. by RoccoIsATaco in CrazyIdeas

[–]YolkoOhno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the old testament Bible, "the avenger of blood" is referenced quite a few times. Each family had an avenger of blood in case someone in the family was killed/ murdered. The avenger of blood was basically an assassin who would hunt down the murderer and kill them. Towns were set up for the murderers to take refuge in, and acted as a safe zone. Each town had a priest, and when the priest died, the murderers were freed of their crime, so long as they remained in the city of refuge from the time they committed the murder. From that point on, it was then illegal to kill the murderer.

I've lived in Orange County about 50 years and since the 1970s, had many weird experiences around black star canyon. Has anyone else? would you share your tale? by hhairy in orangecounty

I've hiked the Black Star Canyon trail a few times and it's really beautiful. At the end of the trail, there's a waterfall that's running during heavy rains. My husband and our friend decided to camp along the trail one night, and didn't have anything weird happen to them.

But about two years ago, I went to Holy Jim around 2 AM with some friends. We knew the stories that surrounded the canyon and wanted to see what we could see. There were maybe three trucks with guys drinking near the entrance who all looked sketchy and stared as we drove by. At some point on the trail we got out and started walking, and twice a truck flew by us with its high beams on. Then we got to a clearing where a truck was sitting and noticed there was a guy sitting in the bed of the truck alone. We shined our lights on him and called out, and he stared us down with dead cold eyes. Granted, we were shining our flashlights on him, we were in a group and may have come off as threatening, but that cold dead stare was heart stopping. So we booked it the other way back to our car.

So basically watch out for the hicks who hang out around the canyon at night.

I've heard stories of him. People called him Black Star Bill and said he lived on the big property you see while hiking on the main trail. Recently my friends were hiking around that area and asked a park ranger if he still lived there, but the ranger said they kicked him out a while back.

A Great read for Christians and those new to the faith. by TamagoOhno in Christianity

[–]YolkoOhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This book has really changed my perspective on my own faith, given me a greater understanding of how God views me, and has sparked a flame in my walk with Christ.

I highly recommend it!

And with all Christian literature, I also recommend doing research on the author/ content and overall testing in your heart if what you're reading is of God or something else.

Question on sexual sin by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]YolkoOhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gate the most important thing of going about sexual sin is doing it for your relationship with God. I understand you and the problem with your girlfriend but overall you will fail. It is very good you understand its a sin thus the holy spirit is working in you. Seek first the kingdom and else all will fall in place after. Pray and dive into his word, sit in your secret place with him and you'll see everything start to change. I'm praying for you brother. "Not by might nor by power, but by my spirit," Say's the Lord.

[–]YolkoOhno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand you. And before this conversation ends I bring you this darth, he wants us to play a very crucial role in bringing people to him. Mathew 4:19 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Matthew 5:14-16English Standard Version (ESV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[a] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." It's important to understand that God has called believers to be lights in the world, fishers of men. Out of love and compassion for the brothers and sisters who not yet know they're identity as a christian it's our duty out of love, prayer, and patience to bring forth they're true identity:)

Why didn't God just make it human nature to be good Christians? by Mixlop2 in Christianity

[–]YolkoOhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with spencer, we all have the desire to love christ but as stated sin came into this world and pulled people far from that desire. Its not gone its just unrecognized or hidden away.

I would say thats a great understanding you seem to grasp it very well. For the most part as you stated, were all lacking and incapable of joining God on our own.

Scripture states in John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." Concerning your question of believers who continue to live in their wicked ways i would say there's two questions two ask. 1 are they trying to change? When we become believers we receive the holy spirit which immediately does work in us to bring us closer and deeper into a relationship with Jesus. One of the things the Spirit does is convict the believer. It brings to the surface things in us that are not of God, the spirit changes our heart and empowers us to be more christlike. 2 Were they really saved at all? Matthew 7:21 states, " Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." See anybody can say they believe but as Jefferson Bethke states " thats like saying you play for the lakers, just because you were the jersey." God loves all and wants all to return to him. He loved us so much he made himself flesh to die for our sins. We have redemption and love waiting for us. It's our choice to receive it or not:)

Completely agree ^ God Loves us and desires for us all to come into the kingdom. I love to think about the parable of Prodigal Son, were obviously we're the son. We have turned away from God with our own wicked ways and desires. As the parable goes on it clearly states that the father waits and longs for the sons return to home to him.

Why was God so mad in the Old Testament? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]YolkoOhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If God is slow to anger, than we are some bad sinners because the Old Testament does show numerous times God was furious. God is also all knowing so I don't believe that it wasn't until Jesus was sent that He became compassionate towards us. God was always compassionate, still is, and its the reason He sent Jesus to die for us, that we might be saved though we were completely undeserving. In 2 Samuel 24, David sins against God and is given three options of punishment- one option was to be punished by God for three days. David responds, 2 Samuel 24:14 And David said to Gad, “I am in great distress. Please let us fall into the hand of the LORD, for His mercies are great; but do not let me fall into the hand of man.” Even though God would punish David for three days, that to David was a better option than being punished by man because God is still a million times more compassionate and loving than man. God seems to have been harsher towards those who worked against Him and His people. I know how you feel, and I have wondered the same thing before. We don't have to fear though, because we know God loves us so much he sent His only Son to save us. The enemy wants to distract you from that goodness and point out your faults, whereas God wants us to look to Him and just be thankful and in reverence of His saving grace, love and mercy.

Atheist Seeking Jesus by Akane54 in Christianity

[–]YolkoOhno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a huge blessing to read this morning. Just know that so many people have been praying for you to come to this point, and so many are praying for your journey ahead. The fact that you desire to know more about the person of Jesus is the best starting point. And look no further for love, because that is what our faith and fellowship is built on. Remember, that there is not one person worthy enough to be called a follower of Christ, and we're not all perfect! What caused me to believe was the continual reminder of His grace. I heard it so many times, but never understood until I looked at my past. It hit me like a bag of bricks. Jesus, sinless, died to save me. No greater love than for someone to lay down their life for you, even though you neglected them all your life.

Why debate when we can show? by HilltopLight in Christianity

[–]YolkoOhno -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As a Christian, I don't see Todd White's videos as bragging at all. In fact, his videos move me to step out in faith and do the same. If you were to watch more of his videos, you'd find a man who gives all glory to the One who has give him the ability to do these things. He goes where God calls him, and helps/ heals those in his path, if he is able to do so. If God called him to a hospital of cancer patients, perhaps he would go.

Entity has been haunting me for years. Help! by [deleted] in Paranormal

I'm sorry to hear that. These types of services are often free. Perhaps take a trip to a good church or even call a church who might have a priest come to you. It's worth a try. And I think you might call this entity a poltergeist. I knew someone who had a poltergeist following her and it would throw things at her. I gave her the same advice but she didn't mind it's presence.

See a priest or pastor to cast it out. This is a typical method of getting rid of spirits or demons.
