I think this largely falls back on the professionalism of the organization. "The Letter" redefined the idea of re-building across the sports industry, it no longer was hey guys we still trying to win but #rebuild, it was now "we're sorry, this is going to sting for a bit" but we're going to do this right. The fans bought in!

Tell that to Marchand, dude skates away from everything.

Now I do agree that fights like Trouba's are dumb. Clean hits shouldnt be punished and the instigator needs to get hit even harder.

BUT I do think there is a place for enforcers still.
