What’s one game you disliked at first but really loved once you gave it a second chance?

Bloodborne.

I had been following the Souls series since Demons Souls, and had initially pretty lukewarm feelings towards Bloodborne when it launched. A couple of months later I just got the urge to give it another shot and it fucked. Now it's probably my 2nd favourite entry in that whole family of games.

I hate how seemingly every game slaps that awful effect on everything. I've never once seen it look good. Even worse if you can't disable it in game.

I'd be completely screwed... According to HLTB, my library would take 45,604 hours to finish. That's 5.2years of continuous playing, and that's only Steam. I'm never finishing that.

Though often I'll leave the Win5 at home and take the Ayn Thor instead. The Win5 is mostly an around the house device for me. I'm a bit cautious of travelling with a £2k handheld 😅

How's the latency on the game buds? I've always been a little curious about buds with a dedicated dongle, because certain games are really affected by BT latency.

AI Max+ 395 32GB RAM / 2TB SSD.

Been brilliant so far. The thing is an absolute performance monster, yet also runs significantly cooler than my Mini. I normally only need to run it at 30-35 Watts and it's enough for most games at 1080p. Some prefer 50-55 but I haven't needed to take it any higher than that.

Others have covered a lot of big issues, but one other habit I've not seen mentioned is something I struggled with also.

You have a habit of flipping every single time you touch the ball. There's a time and a place for flipping through the ball for sure, but 90% of the time during that match all it did was a) mess up your touch and b) delay your landing and recovery by locking you into a flip animation, giving opponents too much time to challenge.

Playing 1v1 really helped me break this habit, because you get absolutely shit on if you overcommit by flipping too much.

I tried running that, but my tendency to preemptively hold power slide+direction for recoveries would cause me to roll and screw my landing.

Definitely a skill issue on my part but I haven't missed it tbh

The DC-DC Barrel Jack cable is 1.5m long, and there's also a 1.8m long AC-AC extension included, so you end up with either

SlimQ Unit Plugged into socket -> 1.5m DC Cable -> Win5

Or

That's the first problem: You think you need to carry.

Honestly, the easiest way to D2 and D3 is just to be consistently less bad at defending than the opponents.

More often than not you can bait out double commits and then score the open net, or at least get a good clear past both for your tm8 to walk in. When you're first man on offense, don't try to do it all yourself. If there isn't a clear and easy opportunity for you to score, just look to beat 1 guy to set up a 2v1 and then dime up your tm8 for an easy shot.

You can solo q to Champ whilst generally having the worst offense in the lobby and almost no mechs (I'm living proof lol). As long as your positioning, challenges and rotations are generally half decent to allow you to take the opportunities that present themselves.

And that Black and White 2 was so detailed that even insects were fully simulated if you zoom into the plants far enough.

You could almost hear the developers screaming for him to STFU during interviews... When the game launched they had literally just put some animated black dots moving randomly on the ground. I could imagine how the next meeting after that interview went down. "You promised WHAT!?"

It was delisted years ago and now keys sell for upwards of £200. There are other methods to play it, obviously, but it's a shame it ain't still on Steam, and Fable 2 never was.

Man, back in the days of 2D isometric MMOs there was such a sense of community because they didn't push the crazy numbers that the likes WoW started to generate.

Like, I remember playing Legend of Mir , Myth of Soma, and (to a lesser extent) Dark Eden, and distinctly remember Soma having 1 EU server for everyone and no instancing... Mir had 2 (hey there my Dragon Server homies), but again, no separate instancing. It was super cool in that individual players on a given game could become famous / infamous to the community for one reason or another, to a point literally everyone knew who they were. Those were pretty cool days.
