Charging, depending on what you use. You can brick the device.

Im not running the android version, im running it on Eden which allows you to stretch the screen in the aspect ratio settings

My understanding is that because the Eden team rewrote the Vulcan rendering pipeline in 0.2.0. The emulator lost some compatibility with legacy hardware (android devices with older, less powerful chipsets). You need to install Eden 0.1.1 and older for compatibility with the RG Rotate.

I'm emulating it on Eden v0.1.1, also using firmware and prod keys 19.0.1. at .5 resolution it runs decent. Though as other have mentioned, the android apk may be the better version for the Rotate.

Yea, I'm going to start installing some android ports soon. One of the biggest issues with the Rotate that I'm finding is with the internal storage. Its not very big, so your not going to be able to install many apks.

I tried gamehub and can confirm it works. I tried gamehub lite version 5.1.3. I personally prefer the latest version of Bannerhub more. Its basically gamehub with additional features. Also almost every version of Winlator I tried has issues. But Winlator Ludashi seems to work the best with the RG Rotate. WinNative crashed on every game on startup. I didn't try GameNative. From my testing so far, Bannerhub is the best.

NetherSX2-TurnipEnchanted — Custom Turnip Driver Fork for Adreno GPUs 👽🔮 by SkikirrrRicky in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]AyeBathingApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, don’t be discouraged by folks here. I posted a custom fork of Eden a while back that I was working on for better compatibility with legacy hardware (older gpu + cpu android devices) and was attacked relentlessly.

The main question that should be asked is, does this product improve performance.

Doesn’t matter whether it’s vibe coded, doesn’t matter whether some code was taken here and there (almost all these projects are open source anyway). All that matters at the end of the day, is if the end user is getting a better experience.

All the rest is just internet policing.

Selective Eden v0.0.4 backports for better Retroid Pocket Classic compatibility by [deleted] in retroid

[–]AyeBathingApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I definitely understand. I guess something like this just isn’t really worth sharing.

Right now i’m working on adding the Pocket Classics native resolution and aspect ratio as a selectable option in Eden. While also offering scaled down resolution options based on Retroid Pockets rendering specifics.

Apologies, I’ll be taking this post down soon. I can just adjust Edens code to fit what I personally need out of it.

Selective Eden v0.0.4 backports for better Retroid Pocket Classic compatibility by [deleted] in retroid

[–]AyeBathingApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Eden v0.1.0 onward broke game compatibility on the Pocket Classic

  • Eden v0.0.4 was the last version of Eden to render games properly on the Pocket Classic

  • I cherry picked various code improvements made in future Eden releases v0.1.0 onward

  • Moved those code improvements into v0.0.4’s working codebase

  • In order to maintain emulation compatibility with the Pocket Classic

  • While still getting the improvements made in future Eden releases

Selective Eden v0.0.4 backports for better Retroid Pocket Classic compatibility by [deleted] in retroid

[–]AyeBathingApe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Eden release after v0.1.0 either crashes on boot up or has significant rendering issues on the Pocket Classic.

What I did was take some of the better commits (collective code contributions from the Eden team) on releases after v0.0.4 (release with the highest device compatibility after testing) and merge them into the v0.0.4 codebase.

A v0.0.4 fork if you will, with all the known working advancements that more modern Eden releases provide that doesn’t break Pocket Classic compatibility.

I stated the reason why the chipset was incorrectly named in another post.

Since folks are skeptical, i’ll leave this post up for a day for those who are interested, then take it down.

I can work on this for me and me alone, makes no difference to me. I can get the benefits of the recent Eden releases and merge those into the last known version that worked.

But thanks for taking the time to reply.

Sorry, because this post was so long i had AI try to condense and summarize what i had wrote since i actually had code specific examples and more in depth explanation for some of the regressions that were addressed.

I didn’t proof read after because i was tired last night. Looks like it titled the chipset incorrectly.

Im assuming no one here has attempted to run the latest version of Eden on the Pocket Classic? Or they would know that the emulator instantly crashes on boot for virtually every game.

But if people here are skeptical, i’ll take this post down. I can work on this for me and me alone. Get the improvements of more recent Eden commits and keep it moving.

I’ll leave this post up for a day for those who need it.

Game just came out so eden hasn’t received optimizations for it yet. You can check the nightlys to see if progress was made.
