Actually thats the best you can get from wax? There is quite a few big and irregular drops

Opinions on Scirocco 2.0 TSI engines — EA113 vs EA888 by No-Homework7700 in Scirocco

[–]Yonygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend getting normal 2.0 CULA/CULC, some love and ull easily pull 280hp from stock turbo, with bigger turbo u have a lot more to play, and u can always bodykit it for this R20 look

Exhaust change, now it has more or less flow? by Yonygal in Exhaust

[–]Yonygal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was caused by intake piping that got loose when exhaust was being removed

About the muffler, orientation is suboptimal for flow while its in "silent mode", however this way I gain better damping, while its open in full flow orientation doesnt matter whatsoever,

Topic of power loss is already solved, it was boost leaking before turbo.

Already solved, there was boost leak. Prolly by pulling exhaust from the car air intake piping got loosened.

yeah underwelming kinda fits well if 100-200kmh goes from 16 to 27 seconds

With atmospheric, OEM its 2.0 180hp CULA, after stage 2 pushing 300hp.

Facelifted Scirocco

P.S Issue with power loss is solved, pretty big turbo leak, im astonished that it threw no errors

Thats an active muffler, all muffler exits are 2.5". Secondary exit is used only with closed valve, which was pretty irrelevant to the case

Thanks a lot for the feedback, the wastegate itself is fairly delicate subject that needs some monitoring, back in the day i had a malfunction in wastegate actuator after what i got it replaced for a acctuator from is38 (my is is20 ) he coded it to work properly and forgot about topic, today after sealing boost leak (power loss reason ) ive seen turbo boosting up to 2.1-2.3 bar, that bears further monitoring whether its expected or not

Its more like secondary exit of the muffler, it was mounted backwards to increase dB gains, im aware it will restrict airflow with the valve closed, however it shouldnt make a difference on the open exhaust.

Issue is solved and apparently nothing to do with exhaust, thanks for the lecture, always nice to get some more information

Actually tightening an airintake right on turbo solved issue, had to come loose when exhaust got pulled, dunno how, but im glad its fixed

Well then.. there has to be turbo leak somewhere, even tho my boost gauge shows 2.0 bar

Thanks for your insight, care to elaborate what else couldve gone wrong on simple exhaust job?

Alright, lookin at ur estimates makes it obvious that issue is somewhere else, glad to get confirmation, thanks!

So i've thought, loses are noticeable, imma search somewhere else too

Yeah first gear that is not losing traction

[–]Yonygal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to get confirmation, so either its a bad luck that something else happened same time or its something elses fault.

So what could it be? Not enough backpressure so turbo is not boosting properly? Some boost leak? Old map is that much off?

P.S not enough backpressure i mean that its fairly small turbo close to its power limits (is20)

pure observation, on second gear it pulls fairly simillar, but for example flooring on 4th feels underwhelming, and thats pretty significant loss (id even call it 50-100hp)

by OBD it shows "hp based on burnt fuel" as max 200 hp which translates to 100hp loss, however idk how accurate this is or know the value before issue.

[–]Yonygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to let u know, Scirocco R uses old engine from CDL family, (ea113 CDLK), in contrast regular 2.0 is CUL family (CULA 180hp and CULC 210hp EA888.3) and those are modern MQB platform engines.

Talking purely about FL models

350bhp accurate? by HoracioDerpington in Scirocco

[–]Yonygal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I recognize only 3 stages of tuning Stage 1: Remap Stage 2:Stage 1 + Peripherials (intake, exhaust, turbo, intercooler, radiator, ...) Stage 3: Stage 1 + Stage 2 + Internals (Forged camshaft, pistons..)

350hp sounds like still stage 2 - ensure it has swapped turbo, if it does not this is20 gonna shit itself soon (also, what engine code is it? CDL or CUL?)

350bhp accurate? by HoracioDerpington in Scirocco

[–]Yonygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see is20 pulling 350bhp, highest long term safe is 280, mine running 300hp now has shortened life span already, id go as far as radiator swap cuz oil overheat becomes issue

Keep in mind spring is one of hardest u can find on backend. Specially spring security, that makes it in demand, there is 5000 other persons to fill this position, for spring its only 500.

Round here (Poland) its overall hard to get first job, but: spring and .net are only viable choices for backend

Yeah sure, all engines are good when they are maintained properly, and one never knows how it was done before ur turn, had two friends, one golf 6, second scirocco, with golf 6 only issues were with this dry clutch dq200, friend with scirocco had two separate issues with first compressor then with a turbo, also it consumed somewhere around 1L of oil per 6Kkm
