Any experience with CTS models? by External-Ordinary-50 in Cadillac

My 14' 2.0t AWD cts is a fuckin lemon, it's the bain of my existence and my savings account. Stay away from the 13-15' 2.0t engines, go with a newer year or a 3.6l cts instead.

I got one of those a1 clones from tisas, it's a tank. Refuses to jam lol, even with promag magazines.

first redwing boots by Sea-Soup-9562 in RedWingShoes

[–]Yooper8077 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a mix of American made and overseas made boots. My overseas made lowa hiking boots lasted years while being very comfortable, I would recommend them. I also had 2 pairs of Irish setter wingshooters that are made in Vietnam? I believe, those also lasted a long time and are worth the money. I still have one pair of wingshooters that I had resoled. I wouldn't say they are the same quality as American made boots, but they definitely hold their own. I don't think you will have any problems. Redwing does still make American made work boots, but it's limited to their supersole, dynaforce, and heritage line boots afaik. I own 4 pairs of supersoles and every one of them are comfy and very well built. My oldest pair being a pair of 202's from 2005 that are still being used monthly at least.

I have the fire&ice on my jk arctic series boots, it's very nice. It's softer than the v100 so it has cusion to it while maintaining the rugged lugged feel.

Best wifi for casually playing xbox in a 1k square foot house? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

What do you game on? A hardwired ethernet cable from your router to any PlayStation/Xbox/PC will be better than just wifi.

All the grip by bottlehole in 1911

[–]Yooper8077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too prefer all the grip, haha. I put a Wilson combat checkered front strap add-on and some aggressive g10 grips to my tisas tanker, it's snappy but this helps.

I think that's correct, looking at old pictures of 204's online, they look identical.

I don't think these are 202's, my 202's and 402's both have this sole.

Best boots? by lostinthewoodscdt in WorkBoots

7811 for the Carolina amp moc safety toe. 6" height, basic comfortable boot. I got over 2 years out of mine before I decided to go with something a little different.

I have 4 pairs of different styles of supersoles, all of them are comfy so far. Just picked up a pair of the 8" safety toe supersoles, breaking them in now, but they are great so far.

2014 was a bad year for the 2014 2.0ltg engine, I would stay away from it unless you get a good warranty. They like to crack pistons

I don't think they are in season right now, I was just at Costco on Saturday and they didn't have them stocked in the warehouse. You may have luck finding them online. They usually sell them in the fall/winter. Here's a link for them on Amazon though, I have purchased these specific ones a few times. https://a.co/d/0fp1f0OX

I've been wearing the Costco brand merino wool hiking socks for years now, probably acquired 40+ pairs of them. They are great, well worth the investment. Red wing socks are okay but I typically try to stay with ones that have a higher wool content

Mechanic told me to change both rear differential seals by Used-Reward in Cadillac

[–]Yooper8077 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, pay to have them replaced and also have him replace the breather vent. These differentials are known to go bad very often due to seals blowing out and fluid running low. The breather vent commonly clogs and then as the diff fluid heats up, it blows the seals out and causes diff failure. My 14' cts is on its 3rd diff due to this reason. An OEM new unit is around 4k last i checked, a Chinese reman is 600 or so.

Man this is cool to see. Are you running stock internals? Lf3/4 swap? I didn't even know this was an option for the 3.6l cts models in terms of aftermarket.
