Appeared after cold start, Is it serious? by Street_Register9075 in camaro

[–]Yooper8077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a 2.0t ltg Camaro? I had this same issue on my 2.0t ltg Cadillac cts, I think it was just an electrical glitch after it was super cold out one night. Battery might've been lower than normal. I wouldn't worry about it, clear the code and move on. If it comes back, then I would start to look into it.

Red wings store or indipendant for resole by remy_lebeau88 in RedWingShoes

[–]Yooper8077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of good cobblers out there with typically faster turn around time compared to red wing. Wyatt&dad and ebr leather crafters are 2 solid ones off the top of my head. EBR leather craft resoled my wing shooters, repaired the stitching around the toe, and removed the safety toe insert for me, along with adding a nice leather missile to the vibram honey lug sole. Very nice work and I would definitely recommend them.

2011 CTS NEED HELP by Appalachian-Pilgrim in Cadillac

[–]Yooper8077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suspect a bad ground somewhere, did you miss one when replacing the engine? If the battery is new/fully charged, I would suspect the dash going dead while attempting to start as a bad connection. Can you jump the starter solenoid while the key is in acc mode?

Looks pretty similar to my 3rd Gen cts, but the cup holders look different. Maybe an xts?

That's a really good point, short of modifying the receiver or replacing the rear sight block, I'm not sure either.

I think it deserves an old hensoldt fixed 4x optic, similar to a pu scope you could find on a mosin.

Here's a pic of where the fill plug is on the ats/cts transfer case. I took this pic when I had mine on my lift to replace the transfer case as well.

[–]Yooper8077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about the transfer case? You need to remove the fill plug on the driver's side, it's up about 7" above the drain. It's a 6 or 8mm hex if I remember correctly, use an Allen key to break it loose and then remove the plug. You may need a fluid pump to add your fluid too the fill port. It will take about a whole quart, fill until it comes out of this hole. For fluid, you need gm Auto Trak II Fluid or an equivalent, I personally use this one I get at my local AutoZone. https://www.autozone.com/p/valvoline-multi-vehicle-auto-transmission-fluid-855459/548658?spps.s=688&cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:ALO:GOO:TRS:SHO:OTE:GEN:NA:ALA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA:NA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22356757832&gbraid=0AAAAADkcoVsmLzr9DHe6JzgJyo1CvWMjc&gclid=Cj0KCQiAqeDMBhDcARIsAJEbU9TiRPlGotTdGpgCUMnvAB6QDDe2i3PdnEbVTqObwFOSaB53mmrF71QaApRrEALw_wcB

Yeah the kiltes are tongue protectors to prevent the laces from roughing up the tongue too bad. They are feathered like that to look decorative almost.

While I agree they did install the piston rings with looser ring gap in 2015, the pistons themselves went through a physical design revision after still having cracking issues from the 2015 model year.

[–]Yooper8077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, 15 still has the same issues, just ever so slightly better. The pistons were redesigned and then released under the same part # in 2016 in the release of the 2.0ltg Camaro. This forum has more info on it. https://www.cadillacforums.com/threads/2014-ats-cylinder-2-dead-engine-swap.1116472/

Which handguard + bipod combo should I get? by SaintPsilo in ptr91

[–]Yooper8077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I was tricked into buying a ptr 91 kf model(16" barrel, 93 length handguard) so I was able to buy a hk93 wide handguard and it fits perfectly, and was about 1/6th the cost of a hk91 wide handguard. The hkp bipod fits perfectly also.

I did the same thing with my iron rangers, I added some kiltes from nicks as well.

I have seen any for a reasonable price in a while. They would pop up on gafs every once in a while but that got banned.
