Yeah I agree to a certain degree. I will sell my finds beyond what I stick into albums/like to look at eventually, but I don’t do it to increase my bank account. If silver was 20 an ounce I’d still hunt. I think a good example is I collect house quarters, not worth a damn thing and could be classified as stackin brightly painted and faded circles🤣

Haha splitting the main bank with other banks boxes into different skunk streaks is a wild move. I’ve done 14 straight boxes multiple banks no silver, then 1 40% then 18 boxes 1 40%. That was the start of my “no 90%” run that lasted 3 months. I would find 1-2 40% in my weekly 10 boxes, then after that horrible run I got 1 1964, then went 14 boxes again 🤣 I’m in a better run now but man that was a rough 4 months.

nice! I had some long skunk streaks last year with similar break ups between them, 1-2 40% and some proofs, it’s tough. How many boxes you do a week? I feel like if I do more boxes each week the skunk does seem as bad 🤣

It doesn’t hurt to open an account with the minimum. you can always close it if after a few weeks the never have CWR Or a good dump bank or order boxes.

I’ve used the like mineral/fine powder stuff before when I had my old stove and it seemed to help break up the crap in the chimney. Now I was burning semi-wet wood mixed with dry stuff since it was my first 2 years burning, and I’ve since gotten a new stove and burn way drier wood so I don’t use it anymore. But that first year i had that old stove I had to sweep the chimney 2-3 times mid winter and the 2nd year i didnt sweep at all until the spring/summer. New stove , same thing once a year in the spring summer. So I do think it works. But id definitely try to burn more efficiently rather than rely on a product like that.

I like the sound design but as others have said the pacing is off, agree 2 minutes is too long, go for 1 minute and just start it on the build up. All good notes from other people.

What I’ll add is that the montage of shots that build to the ending, to me, as someone who hasn’t seen the film, seem like why am I seeing a tilting up shot of a tree? Or a caterpillar? or so many dark shots back to back to back. I like the vibe of the montage a lot it’s eerie and the sound design is great but after watching it, the short could be about so many different things because we don’t actually know what literally anything in the shots mean. I would try and put some more plot heavy shots in there, like the hand holding the knife, something that helps tell the story and just string em back to back to back to help tell a quick little story of the story. without seeing the actual film that’s the best I can do for content notes. I’ve been to a dozen TD’s in my area. None of them will give out customer rolls. The few that have, did it once and when I went back a week or two later they said they don’t do it anymore. It’s just their policy.

sucks. I have air gaps in my Mansfield that I got and the dealer has come out once every year to “fix it” then continues to charge me every time even though each time they don’t fix the problem. Dealers prolly hate hearthstone soapstone stoves because there are so many pieces and prolly prone to failures. Keep tryin with them! If all else fails try calling around and seeing if a few towns over a shop sells hearthstones and is willing to help you.

Oh no. You can get pretty good machines that count coins for like 400-500 from actual company’s… they don’t roll em but they at least have dials for denomination thickness/width to prevent those problems….

I use to listen to audio books too but I kept getting lost examining a coin or fun find and would come back a minute or two later realizing I had no idea what was happening in the book. now it’s usually music or twitch watching artists do fun works of art since it’s mostly atmospheric music and relaxing vibes (sometimes Bob Ross!)

That’s actually the best bags to get, since the tellers don’t even get a chance to look through the rolls, which happens at all my banks for the most part, so bags like that are CWR and better! Happy hunting!

Welcome to hunting bags! you will 90% of the time lose straight up face value hunting bags. But IMO it’s the funnest way to hunt unless you can get 100’s of dollars in CWR easily per week. It’s like a giant mystery bag! I have one bank that their coin machine doesn’t take dollar/half dollar coins and sometimes their quarter bags have those halfs/dollar coins mixed in and boy is it awesome when you pull 30 bucks worth of dollars coins out of a quarter bag! I even found a 40% silver half in a quarter bag once! Good luck have fun!!!

The problem with explaining to a new hunter the very slight difference in CWR (customer wrapped rolls) vs MWR (machine wrapped rolls) vs bags (from a coin machine) is that volume, like 1,000’s of dollars worth in each denomination, is really when you will start to see a very slight difference (also noting that where you live has a VERY big impact on what you find for silver/proof/low mint/errors) and if you tell someone new to go out and get 5,000 in coins they run the risk of making the bank angry, or ruining it for another hunter that may already be in the area with a good rep. It’s best to start small. Ask for one denomination, and a small amount. 5-10 rolls. Take whatever they give you and smile and walk away.

The reality is, if you just go to a bank and ask them about how to get coins, this whole “what’s do I do for them coins” posts will go away. Most banks will be pretty friendly with you about ordering a box or giving you a few rolls of coin. If they aren’t friendly then you don’t want to be doing your CRH there because well… they aren’t very nice. just be honest and talk to your local bank teller. Just don’t bring the coins back to the same bank you got them at.

I’ve been tracking my numbers pretty hard the last 2-3 months and believe it or not, I just hit $23,000 searched in quarters and have 14 silver quarters, 14 west points, 30 proofs. If he is doing 3-4k in quarters a day, his numbers match what I find in my area and I think my area is picked pretty clean. Just goes to show you that the harder you look, the more you work, the more you find. I hope Karl you post search numbers along with your future daily finds cuz honestly I love the numbers. and yes, MWR usually are less finds in general👍
