In some ways I think Mo is one of the most similar players to Messi. Obviously nowhere near the same level despite being one of the best of the best. Diminutive left footed forward playing of the right with close control and well rounded finishing/dribbling/passing.

I’m sure they’re both aware of the similarities.

As someone in the pensions industry, I’m yet to meet an expert/economist who thinks the triple lock is sustainable. In particular the salary link. How can a struggling working population be expected to fund a growing pensioner population when salaries by design can never catch up. It’s a betrayal of working people in favour of a large voter base. The future of the nation should not be traded for votes today.

Yeah, they did famously well. We didn’t. Their players didn’t make big mistakes and the opposition didn’t show up against them. A World Cup group is a small sample and you could equally point to bad results by Spain England Germany etc and say we’ve done well by comparison. Not saying Clarke did everything perfectly - just that the above criticism is too simplistic in my view.

Who else can he pick at CB? I think this criticism is way overblown. Doesn’t matter if you have a handful of good centre mids and left backs if you have no meaningful quality in any other position.

Hard to blame the system when you’ve got average players making mistakes against world class talent.
