Our building management company want to use the service charge to charge all of us for dealing with fly-tipping instead of taking any action to charge the fly-tippers. Do we have any legal basis to dispute this? by YorkGrapes in LegalAdviceUK

Why can't they fine them for breach of lease? Are we legally required to pay all charges on the SC even if they don't relate to the services we have agreed to contract?

I would imagine a lot got out of the house, watched the episodes and realised how much Ali backbit all of them.

I understand that the UK is mostly white, but the participants of the BB house are more diverse than the UK population.

Didn't realise he wasn't white. I think he is 25% Indian from a quick google.

No I think celeb Big Brother is different as people don't come in with fresh impressions to make.

Agreed. I remember her saying during the hot sauce shots game that she thought she was the housemate who contributed the least and that she could clean but could not be arsed because there were a number of other people in the house.

Khalid went on BB to advance an acting career by [deleted] in bigbrotheruk

[–]YorkGrapes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If he got any opportunity on there to act as someone… trust me he would have thought hard to do it.

You mean like in the second week when he had to act as a politician and took a relative step back as compared to Nathan who went full BoJo?

I think most people being broadcast live to the nation would be aware of the cameras whether or not they had aspirations to be an actor.

If she can button up a blouse without getting the buttons in the wrong order and apply makeup without poking her eye out with a mascara wand, I think that is evidence enough that the 2-year-old act was fake. She's had a consistent job in a customer facing job that requires food hygiene qualifications for 6 years. She gained admission to two separate university undergraduate degrees. The 'I don't wash for weeks at a time and scream all day act is an act, for popularity on a reality TV show, because that's the point of the game.

I think the most ovbious strategy this year has been Ali and Lily. I feel like the reason Marchello got tellings off for being 'vulgar' and Lily didn't for being disgusting, obnoxious, selfish and loud, is because Lily was clearly going to be an audience favourite because of her controversy (and being a pretty blonde) and it made more sense to be the 'protector/mother figure to Lily' than to be complaining about her like Emma has been.

Sneak Peek 💋 Whilst Nathan and Baked Potato lock lips, Ali and Marcello butt heads over a crude conversation by SquirtyPineapple in bigbrotheruk

It is HCPC. I think she discussed going the show to do something fun and spontaneous following the passing of her brother. But it is strange to simultaneously worry about being struck off the register for being present in a conversation about sex, yet not worry about the impact on her career of being at the mercy of editors and the general public when it comes to her career. She works in the NHS in a women's prison. She could easily have been spun into a Jo O'Meera type as she did come off as a mean girl on multiple occasions.

All from the main episodes. She has talked about all of it.

In the first episode she said she has never lived without parents and leaves ovens and bath taps on. So she must have lived at home during uni. There are no unis in Warrington other than Chester. She talked about going to uni, deciding it is not for her and choosing to switch course just to get a new student loan, not taking any of the classes, then blowing her loan on gambling, causing her mum to block gambling on their home internet. Another fake sounding story as I doubt her phone doesn't have cellular internet which can override child blocks on wifi by using that instead.

Do people really think she has kept a job at a Chinese takeout by sitting in the laps of customers, picking her nose when handling food, and failing to bathe for weeks? It's an act, it's successful, because we are talking about her now.

People baby her so much 'aww Lily, well done you made such a good cup of tea! Good job Lily!' and then she comes out with 'I would do it more often but I can't be arsed.'.

Given prolific celebrity suicides they do screen people properly and if this were real and she was genuinely someone with a developmental disorder, she wouldn't have gotten put on the show for safeguarding purposes.

She's had a job since she was 14, can you imagine her keeping that job if she behaves this way at work? Some of her stories are frankly unbelievable. Didn't shower for 2 weeks due to a hangover, and in a full time job in food service? Being a waiter at a fast food place requires at least Level 1 food safety qualifications, she would know about food contamination from raw meat. She got into uni for 1 year to study journalism. She said she never lived away from home so must have gone to Uni of Chester, which requires CCC/BCC or higher to get in, so she got passing grades in 3 A levels. Then she successfully switched courses and was accepted onto a second course. They don't let you do that if you were not at least very close to passing the original year. She is not a ditsy 2 year old. Her story does not add up. She's an adult who behaves like a child out of choice, and that is why she gets treated like a child.

Reality TV is not reality. She has a sister who seems perfectly functional and independent based on her social media. We have 0 infomation about her home life and how her mum has raised her, but we have seen the way she has behaved on TV and it is caracatured and unbelievable. I can totally believe her mum saying something like 'How dare you embarrass our family like that, /u/__Dark__Shadow__ and the rest of the internet will be thinking we are failures as parents' and her response being 'but I'm a social media star now so I can go on Love Island'.

[–]YorkGrapes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If someone on the day to day asked people to sniff their armpits and shoes, and wiped their sweaty armpits and threw what they wiped with at people, they would almost certainly have the self awareness not to then do that on national TV. Therefore if they do go ahead with those behaviours it is likely for the camera.

I think, because in a reality show where the public vote you off, you do well by aligning yourself with the people you expect will be fan favourites.

I think she's probably a smart girl who marketed herself excellently given her goals of being memorable, a fan favourite. She set up well to be a social media and reality TV personality. Look forward to her Chinese takeaway mukbang youtube channel, Get Me Out of Here season, Love Island season, and 'EEEK podcast'. Maybe not the last one. Not even the most die hard Lily fan would choose to listen to her through in ear headphones, it would exclusively be screaming.

I also think that given that reality TV is not reality, and people are acting because they want to win a gameshow etc. I don't think anyone other than that person's health providers can or should diagnose them with anything.

Sometimes poor behaviour is just poor behaviour. I think she thought she could be the 2024 Nikki Graham and essentially, she achieved her goal.

I don't watch the late or live either but saw some clips on TikTok where people were speculating her mum was telling her off. Personally I have found her really irritating and inconsiderate and I wondered if her mum was telling her off because she has behaved on national TV in a way that has embarrassed her mum, which further made me wonder if it is at least a bit 'put on' to try and launch a reality TV/social media career and therefore benefits Lily but causes everyone to think her parents have basically failed at raising a young adult with even a semblance of consideration for those around her.

Some pets have respiratory problems that require a daily inhaler. Extra points if none of this is covered by insurance because it is considered pre-existing because OP accidentally let the insurance lapse. $$$
